My hair is naturally wavy. The kind of wavy hair that easily gets puffy if not straightened during humid weather. For years now I’ve regularly straightened my hair, and I learned around age 12 that blow dryers and my hair don’t get along. At least, they didn’t use to. I hadn’t even owned a blow dryer since I moved out on my own over  2 years go. However, my hair seems to have been changing a little and I knew that having a blow dryer would mean I Could shower right before school and still style my hair before I left. When I came across Barbar I was intrigued with their Barbar eco8000 has a ceramic heating element, instead of traditional coils. This difference causes the eco8000 to use less energy and give off less radiation. How much of a difference does it make? A standard blow dryer gives off 200.00 mG of radiation…the eco 8000 gives off 5.0 mG. Wow! Traditional blow dryers give off so much radiation in the form of unused heat. So the reason the eco8000 gives off less radiation is because it uses less energy, and uses the energy it does use more efficiently.

So you’re probably thinking…that all sounds great, but how well does it dry your hair? As I said earlier, I hadn’t used a blow dryer in around five years. However, I know that my old hair dryers took FOREVER to dry my hair. I would separate my hair into layers and blow dry the bottom layer first, then the next layer up, etc. The eco8000 has various settings, but the strongest setting is super strong and dries my hair REALLY fast. I also remember my old blow dryers being too hot, so I’d have to wiggle the hair dryer around quickly because if I let it sit on one part of my head too long it would start to hurt. The barbar has a red button that turns the air much cooler while still pushing out the same amount of air. This feature would be great when using a blow dryer with kids as they tend to be more sensitive to the heat. The cord is 11 feet long so even if your plug in isn’t placed conveniently next to the mirror, you’ll have no problem standing wherever you want. I can’t think of a single thing I’d want to change about the eco 8000.
