I love sewing. I haven’t had much time to dedicate to my hobby since my baby was born so when I had the opportunity to review fabrics from Quilting Treasures, I jumped on the occasion! Quilting Treasures is a 200 year old company that specializes in designing and making quilting fabrics. They offer a great selection from baby and children’s fabrics to contemporary, floral, and seasonal fabrics. In their children’s fabrics, you’ll find: Thomas the Tank, Little Golden Books, Run Run Robots, Goodnight Moon, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Peanuts, Richard Scarry, Wizard Fun, and more.

You can search by category, by collection, or by designer and each fabric is clearly depicted so you know exactly what you’re getting (please note that all images are not to scale so you get the best representation possible). Each collection has many color-coordinated fabrics so it’s very easy to find fabrics that will match together. Here’s a small selection from 2 of Quilting Treasures’ collection.

I received 3 different fabrics from the new Dinosaur Train collection: the themed book panel, one themed fabric and one themed coordinate. As you can see, each fabric is really cute and the colors are bold and vivid! The fabrics are 100% cotton and wash well (machine wash cold, normal cycle).

First, I decided to tackle the book. I’d done one before that they are quite straight forward and quick projects. Instructions are printed on the book panel itself so you don’t have to worry about which pages to put together. I didn’t have any interfacing or batting so I decided to use felt instead to give a book a certain thickness. It worked quite well actually and I am very pleased with the final result.

With the other 2 fabrics, I decided to make a storage basket because my house has been taken over by baby toys and I need some sort of storage to put everything away. Again, not a terribly complicated project but it was fun!

If you’re looking for inspiration, visit Quilting Treatures’ Project Sheets section. They have dozens of quilting projects but also fun ideas like a pencil case and aprons. They use their own fabrics to design their projects so you don’t have to worry about finding fabrics that match. They’ve done the work for you!
