Pfaltzgraff Tahoe Dinnerware Review
When my Husband and I got married 6 years ago, one of our wedding gifts was a set of dishes. Registering for wedding gifts was a chore for the two of us. I had my own design opinions and he inherited his Mom’s standard that said china dishes were the standard. Add to that, my husband’s budget friendly personality that his Dad had instilled in him. It was the perfect storm! We conflicted on design, budget, and quality. I was able to talk him out of china and we settled on a set of plain white budget friendly dishes. After a few years, the dishes started chipping and most of the mugs had lost their handles. We continued to use them because we had young kids and figured if a piece got dropped accidentally, it wasn’t a big deal.
Then, as we neared our last few dishes, it dawned on me that our kids are older and not as accident prone as they were when they were younger. It was time to invest in good dishes that were also beautiful. It was time for Pfaltzgraff!
Pfaltzgraff has been creating ceramic products for the home for over 200 years. The company started with a pottery shop that sold earthenware, salt-glazed stoneware crocks and flower pots. Over the years, they grew to the point that they now offer an extensive line of dinnerware, drinkware, ceramic accessories, tools, flatware, gifts, and more.
For our review, Pfaltzgraff sent us Tahoe dishes from their everyday dinnerware collection. Tahoe dinnerware has black, beige, and red bands around the outside of the dish. The center of the dishes is neutral beige. The mugs have the same neutral beige exterior and a rich black interior. The dinner plates are 11 inches in diameter, salad plates are 8 ½ inches, 12 ounce bowls, and 12 ounce mugs.
I really like the design on these dishes. It has a comfortable feeling to it that coordinates well with our home décor. My Husband noted how deep the dishes were; something he apparently missed on our old dishes. My kids like our “fancy” new dishes too….they like using mugs with handles. Lol.
Looking at these dishes, it is obvious to me that Pfaltzgraff dinnerware is made with super craftsmanship and excellent quality goods.

Is this made in America ?
Yes, Pat. Pfaltzgraff came to the US in the early 1800s. Thank you for asking….I should have included that in my review.

I remember when my parents got new dishes when my sister and I were old enough. They were so fancy and new. If your dishes hold up as well as the ones my parents got you will still be using them long after your children graduate from college.
I have had my eye on a few Pfaltzgraff patterns recently.
Those are so pretty too!! I like the earthy tones yours have a lot!
These are beautiful! Love that they would match our kitchen decor as well.
I actually think they are made in China. I believe Pfaltzgraf moved all their production to China a few years ago.
I just looked around the Pfaltzgraff site and wasn’t able to see anywhere where it said made in usa (which is usually something that companies advertise if that’s the case). I did a google search and found a website that said they quit being us made in 2005. I was only able to come up with the one site that said either way so I don’t know for certain but my guess would be you’re correct.
Big fan of Pflatzgraff! Such amazing quality.
