*I was given a complimentary e-cloth pet towel. All opinions are my own.

My pugs Frank & Beans are lapdogs. If I am sitting down, they are either on my lap or right up against me. Most of the time if I walk around the house, they follow me. As a result, I bathe them really regularly – perhaps more regularly than your average pet owner. Nobody wants a stinky dog up against them, right? Thankfully, they are really used to being bathed and tolerate it pretty well. I used to always line up their bath with a load of laundry so I could take the wet-dog smelling towel and throw it in the washer as soon as we were finished. In January I moved into a duplex, this was my first time not living in an apartment complex and being without a washer and dryer within the building. We now go to the laundry mat, so the stinky dog towel became more of a problem. Even though my dogs are little, they would drench an entire towel per dog so we’d have two big towels that were soaked. For a while I would hang one over the side of the shower and the other over the sink but it would take 2+ days for them to dry and the bathroom and the bedroom next to the bathroom would stink the entire time. It just wasn’t working. I can’t imagine what it’s like for people who have a big dog or even multiple big dogs – I would have to use half of the towels I own just to dry a couple of big dogs.

So when I heard that e-cloth makes a towel for dogs called the Cleaning & Drying Towel that absorbs twice as much as a regular towel, and dries four times quicker than a regular towel, I was excited. If the towel could dry in just 1/2 a day, that means a lot less time to deal with stinky dog smell. The towel is smaller than a regular towel at 19.7 inches by 39.4 inches. My pugs are about 20 and 24 pounds so you can see how they compare to it.

It has a very soft (almost blanket-like) feeling to it. It is not particularly thick so I was pleasantly surprised to see how absorbent it really is. As I mentioned, I usually soak an entire human towel per dog. After drying one dog with the e-cloth dog towel, there were still dry parts. I also noticed that if I put the towel on the dog and then rubbed, the top side of the towel would usually be dry even though the bottom was wet, so I could flip it over and reuse a lot of parts of the towel. While there were dry parts of the e-cloth dog towel left after I used it on one dog, it wasn’t dry enough to completely dry the second dog. I think this towel size would be perfect if I had just one dog of roughly their size or slightly larger. If you have a medium to large size of dog or have two dogs that you want to bathe on the same day, you would probably want to go with the size large. The large e-cloth cleaning & drying towel is about 1.5 times the size of the regular towel at 59.1″ by 31.5″.

It’s finally warmed up here in Michigan so instead of leaving the e-cloth towel to dry in my bathroom, I put it over the side of my porch outside and it dries within a couple of hours. When we take it to the laundry mat, it’s always the first towel to be completely dry – the rest of the towels take roughly twice as long to dry.

I’m really happy to have this towel as I don’t have to deal with that wet-dog smell in my bathroom for 2-3 days after washing the dogs. I would love to get another one later on so that I can dry both dogs at once.
