I received product from Sparkup Reader.com. All opinions are my own.

Cheyenne, my 5 year old daughter, just started kindergarten. Though most kids entering kindergarten don’t know how to read, it has been skills we have pushed to have our girls know beforehand. Learning to read at a young age gives kids a feeling of independence and pride. The look on their little faces when they read something on their own is magical.

At this point, I would consider Cheyenne to be an ‘early reader’. She knows many of her site words but still needs help sounding out larger words. To help us continue building on her skills, we have a library at home for her to read from. The ‘problem’ is, we aren’t always available to read when she wants to.

We recently were asked to review a new educational toy called the Sparkup Magical Book Reader. This device lets you, a parent away from home, grandparents or anyone, create a personal audio recording of a book. Then your children can listen and read along to the book with you, whenever they want to.

The Sparkup Magical Book Reader can hold up to 50 books at a time. Recording is very easy to do and any book can be use. You can record in your own voice or download professional readings from the website. Our Sparkup Magical Book Reader came with 3 books. One is a demo book and the other two are story books that can be purchased additionally.

Cheyenne has had a lot of fun with the Sparkup Magical Book Reader. She has actually let her older sister read and record the stories for her. They have a lot of fun using goofy voices and making silly sounds while they record.

In my opinion, it’s never too early to start thinking about holiday and birthday gifts. I think Sparkup Magical Book Reader would make a great gift for your early reader.

These are very cool and I have not seen these on the market. When babysitting I don’t really think of teaching the kid’s to read but something like this would be helpful. I’d love to try a demo book of theirs.
