With five children, we’ve experienced the newborn stage at different times of year. We have had one Spring Baby, two Summer Babies, and now we’ve just added our second Fall Baby. While I truly preferred our Spring and Summer babies just for the ease of getting out and about without having to bundle up, I’m happy that there are great companies like Blue Baby Bum that knows the needs of parents and babies and offers some great products to help.
Blue Baby Bum sent me a trio of products including their: Car Seat & Stroller Cover, Car Seat Blankie, and Stroller Blankie. While I was spoiled last week with the weather feeling more like Summer than Fall, this week has been cool, rainy, and dreary. It was definitely not fun having to take our 2 week old out in this weather but we had a few places we wanted/needed to be this week. We had our 2 week check up at the doctors office, went to church, and visited my father in law at the nursing home. And since we live in Minnesota, I know it will only be a short time before the weather gets even worse. So I am really excited to have these great Blue Baby Bum products on hand.
All three products are made from a nice quality material and have a soft minky interior. Velcro pieces allow easy attachment to carseats and strollers. The Car Seat Blankie has a spot for the bottom buckle to go through to keep the Blankie from falling off and onto the ground or floor. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve been out in the slushy snowy weather and the baby blanket falls off the car seat and gets all muddy! I am so excited that I won’t have to worry about that problem this Winter. Blue Baby Bum has even designed a velcro piece to hold the Blankie together when not in use. Lots of thought definitely went into this product.
The Car Seat Cover will also come in handy. In the past, I’ve had the style that is basically flat over the carseat. I’ve always worried about how well a baby can actually breathe under such close coverings. The Blue Baby Bum Car Seat Cover attaches by velcro to the handle of the carseat which keeps the cover far away from baby’s face yet still protects from the outdoor elements. The only issue I’ve had so far is when it’s really windy, the cover doesn’t stay put as well as I’d like. I’d love to see weighted corners to help with that but overall, I really like this product.
While I have not yet taken our 2 week old anywhere with the stroller, I did have our 2 year old test out the Stroller Blankie. It’s really more of a stroller “bag” by the legs that allows the leg buckle to still securely latch so the child can be buckled in. It’s roomy yet has closed edges to keep the cold out. The design behind it is really nice as it will definitely keep a child warmer than just a blanket. The 2 year old liked it so much he didn’t want to come out!

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates.
