I have kids at both ends of the sleep spectrum. Our 7 year old and 2 year old sons are up before dawn many days while our 9 year old daughter could sleep till noon. I’ve tried different things to try to get the boys to sleep longer but nothing seems to work. As for our daughter, I end up waking her each day between 7 and 8 am, depending on the schedule that the day holds. So when I came across Claessens’Kids and was offered to review their Kids Sleep Moon, I was really excited.
The Kids Sleep Moon is a multi-purpose sleep “tool”. This product helps teach time and sleep training in a kid friendly way. The Kids Sleep Moon has three different programable settings for Nighttime, Naptime, and Weekends. We decided to just have one setting since we homeschool and farm and the day of the week rarely matters around here. My husband did have to read the directions but he said it was pretty easy and fairly straight-forward to get set.
The clock has two separate pictures which light up depending on whether it’s time to sleep or be awake. There is also a Lullaby Music option which our boys love to listen to at bedtime. Since our boys like to get up, we decided to use the alarm setting and it goes off with the music setting at 7:15 each morning. I like that it offers a gentler wake up option for kids than just a blaring alarm sound. The boys also like to sleep with night-lights, so they love the glow this clock gives off.
We’ve only been using the Kids Sleep Moon for a short time but it seems to be working. The boys have only been coming out of their room after the alarm sounds which is a nice change from the 5 am wake up calls I used to get from them some days.
