AudioBooks.com is a website where you can purchase a subscription for $14.95 a month. Each month you get to pick out an audiobook to listen to for the month. If you want to listen to more than one book per month you can add additional credits onto your account so that you can access more audio books. AudioBooks are a great way to consume books for busy people who don’t have time to sit and read because you can listen to audio books in the car, on your lunch hour or even while you’re taking a shower. Ryan loves audiobooks so a subscription to AudioBooks.com is the perfect gift for him.
Ryan’s favorite genre of book is historical non-fiction and he was impressed with the selection available at AudioBooks.com because it’s not always the most popular category. In fact, the site has over 40,000 audiobooks to choose from! We’re a little behind the times when it comes to gadgets – we don’t have a tablet and Ryan’s smartphone is pretty outdated and slow. So, we were happy to learn that we can use the AudioBooks.com website to listen to our choice of audiobook via the computer. To play an audiobook on your computer you go to the book you want to listen to and click ‘play sample’ and then once the sample has ended you can switch over to the full book version. If we had a gadget, we could swap between listening to the book on our computer to listening via our phone or tablet without having our place lost.
Occasionally Ryan will be listening to an audio book and will get distracted by a phone call, the dogs, the mailman, etc. If you get distracted it’s easy to jump backwards a bit and re-listen to a portion of the audiobook that you missed the first time around.
