I start preparing for my holiday gift guide in August. So, it’s a little sad that I still find myself searching for the perfect gift for one or two people the week of Christmas. For some people like my boyfriend Ryan, it’s just safer to avoid guessing what he wants and instead just ask (or listen).
Just yesterday we had to drive a couple of hours away to a doctor’s appointment. We used our GPS (which is 5+ years old) but it kept turning itself off despite being plugged in! We are from a small town and were driving to a HUGE town so the GPS shutting down in thick traffic in a huge town was a little stressful to say the least. On the way home, Ryan was definitely hinting that we could use a new GPS for Christmas.
Best Buy has the several GPS devices available – some of which are currently on sale. Our current GPS is a Garmin and it served us well up until about a month ago so I feel like we got our money’s worth. I’d definitely consider a Garmin again.
The Garmin 52LM and Garmin 2597LMT both have a 5.0″ display with maps of 49 states and lifetime map updates. They also have lane assist with junction view and display your speed limit and accurate arrival time. I know that TomTom is also a highly rated brand. Best Buy has TomTom Go 50s which come with lifetime TomTom traffic, lifetime maps for US, Canada and Mexico, a 5″ screen and even 3D maps. It’ll be hard to decide which GPS to go with but the GPS options at Best Buy give me plenty of options to choose from.
Ryan has also been hinting about wanting the XBOX One for over a year now. It owns several exclusive titles including Halo and Sunset Overdrive and several other popular titles including Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty, Madden 15, FIFA 15, NBA 2K15, Fantasia: Music Evolved, Just Dance 15, and Skylanders. Any gamer would LOVE to get this system for Christmas and you can pick it up as a last-minute gift from your local Best Buy.
