I had a big problem.  Even though I know we have three chargers for my iPhone and our iPad, we can only find one.  While that is a (small) problem in and of itself, my real dilemma lay in the fact that the one cord I had was fraying.  (From what I’ve heard, I’m not alone in this issue though.)  So I spent a couple hours searching the house for either of the missing cords and still turned up empty-handed.  Then I turned to Sugru for help.

I had only just learned about Sugru.  It is a moldable glue that was invented to fix things.  It’s easy to use, bend, twist, turn, and apply.  They have a unique patented silicone technology that is truly remarkable.  While Sugru is soft and pliable, much like play dough, it will stick to and bond to other materials.  The only requirement for curing is air.  Because of the strong cured properties, Sugru will stay strong in all temperatures and environments from the cold of the freezer to the hot dry atmosphere of a shower.

As soon as my Sugru package arrived, I was ready to get busy.  My cord was getting more damaged with each passing day and I knew it was only a matter of days or weeks before the cord would be unusable.  Per instructions, I washed my hands and then rolled and shaped a pack of the Red Sugru.  I placed it around the frayed end of my cord and formed it up the cord for extra support.  The whole process took about two minutes.

Final result= A fixed cord.  I have been using my Sugru repaired charger cord for over a month now with no further damage or issues.  I call that a success!

Ah! This is amazing! I had this problem with my mac cord a month ago and they are EXPENSIVE to replace! I ended up using some electric tape – but this seems like a longer lasting solution. Thanks for the review.
