There is one company that I have turned to time and time again for learning products, games, and tools and that is Learning Resources. Most recently, we were sent one of their newer products, the Create-a-Maze.
I honestly wasn’t entirely sure what to expect with the Create-a-Maze. I had read the description and looked at the photos and just couldn’t decide whether this would be a hit or not. However, once we opened the box, all of my hesitation and doubt disappeared. I was immediately impressed at the size and sturdiness of this game board. Right away I loved the fact that it comes in two pieces which makes for easier storage. For play, the board hooks together to form the circle and then a small base is attached on the bottom.
This game comes with several different sizes, shapes, and colored pieces for maze pieces allowing for adapting to different skill levels. I really like that Create-a-Maze can be played with only one player for individual play or up to four players as a group game.
The Create-a-Maze comes with activity cards but the kids soon took matters into their own hands and created their own mazes too. We are really enjoying this product. Learning Resources gets two thumbs up from everyone in our family for the Create-a-Maze. And while it is geared for ages 5 and up, our 2 year old enjoys helping with the set up even though the play itself is a little too difficult yet. Overall great concept, great design, and great product.
