Since we live on a farm, we have a few animals. Cows, of course, being a dairy farm. We also have two dogs and a million cats. Okay, not really a million. I’d say we typically average about 20 or so. It’s hard to count since there are always strays coming and going among our bunch. Either way, we go through at least one big bag of cat food a week. Still, with the above animals, our kids want more. We’ve been tossing around ideas of getting a horse, chickens, or rabbits. I think we’re leaning towards bunnies since our “big dog” is getting really old (she’s about 15 in human years) and we will probably end up getting a new puppy within the next year. I think rabbits will allow the smoothest transition if we end up with two new pets this year.
With pets on our minds, Learning Resources sent us their Jumbo Pets Set for review. Included in this package are: Dog, Cat, Rabbit, Guinea Pig, Fish, and Bird. Right away, the kids were claiming dibs on certain animals and discussing whether we should consider any of these choices as our new pet. The Jumbo Pets are nice and big and the colors are eye-catching. The kids have really been enjoying them and they do feel well made. If I had to suggest any changes, I’d love to see a little more weight to them so they are slightly sturdier but, overall, they are quite nice.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.
