My husband and I always joke about how our kids would rather spend their days playing with a box that the toy came in rather than the toy itself.  Even speaking with other parents, this trend is fairly typical.  When our first child was young (maybe 2 or 3), she seriously spend about two months coloring, playing in, and even napping in the box our new dishwasher had come in.  It was a staple in our living until that entire time and it was really fun watching her imagination.  So I do try to be extra picky about what toys we end up keeping in our home.  I was introduced to Magformers, magnetic construction sets, a couple years ago and they are seriously one of the only toys that gets played with on a daily basis STILL!

Since we are in the planning stages of our daughter’s first birthday, Magformers sent us their SUPERMagformer set to help celebrate.  This 30 piece set contains 12 large triangles and 18 large squares.  (Note:  All Magformers are recommended for kids ages 3+ only due to choking hazard, but because of the extra large size pieces in this set, we feel comfortable with her playing with them.)  Right away, she has taken to these building toys.  The bright colors draw her attention while the ease of play keeps her enthralled.  It’s amazing to see a baby actually building and playing with these magnetic pieces.  While most of her creations are just stacks of SUPERMagformers, I love seeing her figuring out how they work.

It’s quite common to walk into our living room and see Magformer building in progress or the remains left scattered about.  No matter how many times a day I (or the kids) clean the Magformers up and place them all back in the basket, it’s almost guaranteed that they will be used again before the sun goes down.  All five of our children as well as many adults that walk through our doors sit down and play with our basket of Magformers.  They are truly THAT GREAT!
