Bathroom Makeover With Glidden Paint

It’s been 10 years since we remodeled our upstairs.  Originally, we had four bedrooms up there and they all had plaster walls and ceilings that were falling in everywhere.  So we had the entire thing gutted and changed out one of the bedrooms for a bathroom.  I had settled on my color scheme for the bathroom and got some really bad advice from the man in the paint department at a local home improvement store and have hated the results since.  He told us to water down the paint and make a “glaze” for the sponging we wanted to do over the top.  After adding the water, the mixture was so runny that we had streaks down the walls and it looked terrible.  So I have been wanting to give that bathroom a makeover for a very long time and I was thrilled to partner with Glidden.

Bathroom Makeover With Glidden Grab-N-Go Paint from Walmart

Glidden now offers a Grab-N-Go Paint Line, available at Walmart, with a variety of pre-mixed colors.  This line allows customers to grab their paint and be out the door in no time!  This is perfect for me because I can stand in front of color display options for hours trying to decipher which of the 50 shades of grey I want…..  But my favorite thing is that if I overbuy, I can return any unopened cans!  (I once had to run 20 minutes each way – THREE TIMES- to buy additional paint when we were working on another project because I didn’t want to overbuy and we kept thinking the next gallon would be enough.)

We headed to Walmart to choose our paint.  I had already purchased my new shower curtain and had decided that I wanted a neutral paint color to go with it.  I was pleasantly surprised to see a large selection in the Glidden Grab-N-Go Paint aisle and immediately was drawn to the Warm Caramel color.  After scouring the rest of the aisle, my mind was set.  It literally took only a few minutes!

Back home, my mom and I got busy.  The paint went on beautifully.  Our roller and paintbrush glided with ease and the new color was immediately appealing.  Check out our makeover results!  We absolutely love it and couldn’t be happier with our Glidden Paint from Walmart.

It looks like it turned out great! I’ve been curious about glidden’s quality since our green family room (yikes) needs a good repaint

      Hi Cassie,

I love that they offer popular colors that are well received. Years back, we had an “orange” incident. I was going for a nice burnt orange and got pumpkin instead! BRIGHT orange pumpkin! I was able to handle it for 6 months and no more. It was terrible. Thankfully, I’ll never have that happen again by using Glidden’s Grand-and-Go line!

  • Oh wow! You’re bathroom looks beautiful. I like the paint color and I love your shower curtain! I’ve never seen a shower curtain like that before.

  • Jeanine

I do like that caramel color! I am going to check out Walmart’s paint because we need to get some painting done here!

  • Deb E

I love the color! I’m a big fan of clothes combo colors of tan and light blue so you know I really like your shower curtain with the new color. Good you can get it at Walmart too.

  • Looks great! I just love that shower curtain! Almost looks like a paint swatch! Thanks for sharing!

  • Katy

Wow! What a huge change! The bathroom looks great! I really like the warm camel color. I also like the idea of grab-and-go paint!

  • Anne Taylor

Your “new” bathroom looks great! I’d love to be able to paint our bathroom but we are renting right now so that’s a no go! I’ll be checking our the paint at Walmart though!

  • Lisa W

  • kara kudro

wow, I know that this is about the paint, but the shower curtain wow, so beautiful.

  • Michelle S

I really love that paint color. We bought new accessories last year for our bathroom – rugs, curtain, towels, etc. We didn’t paint but I really think we should this year. I have used Glidden paint in the past and liked it.

  • Sue Hull

Your bathroom turned out really nice! That is a nice color. My living room is a lighter version of that color. I like it a lot better than white. I absolutely love your shower curtain! I may have to get me one 🙂

  • Nice job. I am painting my exterior of the house.

  • Kay

    Great shower curtain!

  • Dagmar M

It looks awesome!! I love how much painting the walls really does change to whole room!

  • Debbie Welchert

Your bathroom looks wonderful. Our bathroom is very small and it could use a fresh coat of paint too. I love that you can just go and pick up your paint and don’t have to wait.

  • What a change! It looks great. I need to do the same with mine if I ever get the time!

  • Mary Beth Elderton

Very nice re-paint! We are re-doing an older home, and I have been painting every wall. Next up is what will be our home office. Grab and Go paint is a great idea. I love the idea of returning unopened cans. I have a tendency to over buy so that I don’t run out in the middle of a project.

BTW–I love the dogwood art/trytich! That very piece is on my “maybe” list for our spare room

  • Kaye Newman

I love the idea of grab and go paint. It takes me so long to pick out paint. This is going to be a big help.

  • Charlotte

I love the shower curtain!! So fun!

  • ellen beck

Glidden has wnderful paints, and it goes on so easily. I have always liked how it is a one coat paint and you dont hav to go over and over something.
I like your results and your shower curtain is wonderful!
I think we had the same kind oof hose and wish I had chosen a bathroom- we knocked the floor out and have a high ceiling in our living room. It made it too chilly!

  • Melissa S

Isn’t it amazing the change a couple coats of paint can make? We have repainted several times in the last couple of years due to our soot from our wood burning stove Glidden seems to be one of the easiest paints to work with and has great colors.

  • Karen Propes

I haven’t heard about Glidden Grab and Go, but I do like Glidden. I love the new color and the shower curtain goes so well with it. Congrats on finishing and being happy with the results. We are getting ready to paint some rooms in the house and will check this out when we go to buy the paint. Thanks for sharing.

  • Richard Hicks

Very nice improvement with the new paint. Glidden is a good brand too

  • Rosie

This came out so nice! I haven’t yet tried Glidden paint, but I love how your makeover came out. I want to check out Glidden, as I’m looking to do some painting and don’t want to use the brand I did last time.

  • wen budro

It’s amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do for a bathroom makeover. Glidden paint is high quality and is definitely a brand that I trust. That bathroom makeover came out beautifully.

  • Sandy Cain

This came out so nice! It’s way past time that we fixed up my brother’s bathroom – a good coat of Glidden paint would help a lot. The walls now are a non-descript off-white, that does nothing to spruce the place up. I like your color a lot, but I think my brother woud like a very light blue (for an ocean theme). Thanks for posting your pictures and giving me an idea!

  • DENISE LOW

I have used Glidden paint before. Usually only takes 1 coat. Wouldn’t buy any other kind.

  • Thanks for the post. I really wanna redo my bathroom before I have my baby. I love that shower curtain! =]]

  • DENISE LOW

This is the paint I always use. Just have to paint one time. Thank you for sharing.

  • wendy browne

I can’t paint as we’re in a rental. I will keep Glidden in mind when we move.

  • DENISE LOW

I have used this paint before and it is great. One coat does .

  • Brenda Disimone

I never know how many gallons it will take to paint a room and also have had to run back to home depot which is 10 minutes away ! I like the after look better of course it has more color and the new look gives it a updated feel

  • Tara L

Wow you have a pretty decent nice bathroom. I would love a lot of room in my bathroom, but if I didn’t I would love to pain it to where it would look bigger and I love those ruffled shower curtains very elegant.

  • Tricia Hope

Love your shower curtain.Did you make it?

  • Dana Matthews

Wow, amazing job! I’ve heard good things about Glidden paint but have never used it personally. I have a hallway overhaul coming up. I might just give it a try!

  • gloria patterson

I happy to hear that there are other people that have problems with these color chips.. I have taken them outside, under different light and cannot tell the different between #1 purple, #2 purple, #3 purple, #4 purple. I am going to check the colors at walmart.

  • It looks great! I’m seriously in need of painting my bathroom, it’s on my project list. Can’t wait to get it done. I’ll definitely check them out! Glad to know it’s a good paint, I’ve seen it but was worried about the quality. Glad you answered my curiosities!

  • justin tan

great makeover. Love the color! makes the bathroom looks more luxurious and brighter!

  • Dotty J Boucher

I like the color you chose although I think a soft gray would have been perfect and yes I do find gliddens paint go on smooth and they always look pretty.

  • Brandon Sparks

Wow.. This is great. I really need to do something like this. Thanks for the great idea..

  • Ken

The room looks great, but I thought I’d share my experience with “Grab and Go” paint. Disclaimer: I didn’t buy the paint…it was left here by the previous homeowner. This is the “Door and Trim” paint that says it is “High Gloss” on the label. I assumed it is what they had used on the baseboards previously. I just needed to touch up knicks, scratches and paint drips from my sloppy work and those before me. First, this is WHITE. 100% white. Not a shade of off-white, which is what apparently was there before. Second, if this is “High gloss,” I’d hate to see what semi-gloss looks like! This was somewhere between flat and eggshell, and I wouldn’t trust it to be washable. It is thin and gives poor coverage. I’ll give this away and get some real paint tomorrow. I did all my walls with Benjamin Moore Aura. It’s expensive, but you get what you pay for.
