This is a Fashionista Event and a promotional item was provided to me. Hosts for this event are Still Blonde after all these Years and ModlyChic.

A couple years ago Ryan & I were given hotel tickets as a Christmas gift. Prior to that we didn’t really do any traveling outside of camping, but we had such a relaxing “staycation” at the hotel that we started visiting hotels more often. I struggle with balancing work from everyday life. I think it’s harder to balance life and work when you work from home and make your own hours. Sometimes I will decide to stop working for a weekend or even just a day to reset and then I find myself doing odds and ends of work for the blog anyway. Going to a hotel changes scenery and makes it easier for me to commit to relaxing. We take advantage of our slightly new location to check out local restaurants, classes or other activities as well. We love how we can spend so little on gas and still feel like we ‘got away’ for a mini vacation even if we’re just 30 minutes from home.

Staycations in michigan

When shopping in East Lansing last winter I saw that a new Hyatt was going up near the Eastwood Towne center. Lansing and East Lansing have a much more active community life than the tiny town that I live in has. East Lansing has a pool, art classes, fitness classes, a major shopping centers, art galleries and local events.

The East Lansing Hyatt building was completed in 2015 so it’s an extremely modern design and interior. The East Lansing building is part of the “Hyatt Place” hotel line – all of the Hyatt hotels are the newer Hyatt brand so all Hyatt place hotels include modern decor. The stay includes a complimentary A.M skillet which includes hot breakfast items in addition to the fresh fruit, cereal, etc that you typically see at continental breakfasts. If you plan to keep a full schedule during your stay there is even a “grab and go case” which includes sandwiches, bottled drinks and other foods designed for use ‘on the go’. I like to avoid working too much while at a hotel but I have to at least have 15 minutes a day to respond to any truly urgent emails, so I love that fast and free wifi is included in each stay. If you require Starbucks to get up and moving for the day, the Hyatt is a great place to stay because they offer Stawbucks beverages inside their cafe. I also love that there is a 24-hour fitness center and a pool that we can use to keep up with our fitness goals or just to wind down from our long day.
