St. Martin’s Press is a great website to check out if you’re looking for gifts for book lovers. The Macmillan website covers books for adults and children alike, including several genres. If you or someone on your Christmas list likes reading be sure to take your time browsing the website because these few books are just a tiny sliver of what St. Martin’s press has to offer.

a thousand miles to freedom

A Thousand Miles To Freedom By Eusun Kim is about her escape from North Korea. Her mother decides to escape with her Eusun and her sister after her father and grandparents had died of starvation. The 1,000 mile journey to South Korea lasts nine years because they would live homeless, get caught up with Chinese human traffickers and survive a North Korean labor camp. The story really speaks to the strength and resilience of humans while also proving an eye-opening look into North Korea. See the giveaway here. Ends 11/29.

angry optimist jon stewart

Angry Optimist by Lisa Rogak is about Jon Stewart. The book covers his early life, his entry into stand-up comedy, his first TV show  (The Jon Stewart Show) and of course, The Daily Show. The Daily Show just went off the air a few months back so this book would be a great gift idea for anyone who was a fan of the show and has been missing watching it each weeknight. Pugs In Costumes

Pugs In Costumes is an adorable book with over 100 photos of pugs in costumes. As a pug lover I squealed over several of the photos. After Snowden book

After Snowden will make a good gift for people interested in news, politics and current events. After Snowden has seven previously unpublished essays discussing the effects and aftermath of the NSA information leak. The essays are written by a lawyer, a journalist, a former assistant secretary of state, an ethics expert and others.
