Mind alive Review

Thank you to Mind Alive for providing me with product in exchange for review. All opinions are my own.

Meditation is something highly spoken of and recommended by many. I think most of the population could use some help in turning their brains off for a while, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. We as Americans especially just have so many things to think about and do each and every day, it’s easy to understand the complications of just taking and maintaining some quiet time to meditate. Luckily there is a great product that can actually help you meditate. Not only can it help facilitate a meditative state but it does so many other things as well! Mind Alive provides you with an unmedicated way to help boost your mood, boosts brain creativity, meditate, energize, and sleep more soundly!

Mind Alive uses lights and sounds that when combined are called audio visual entrainment (AVE). Mind Alive uses specific configurations supported by research studies to help guide your brain to a more effective brain wave pattern. AVE is known to help with the following, academic performance, anxiety, ADD, ADHD, low mood, PTSD, pain, seasonal affective disorder, senior issues, sleep, and sport performance. Considering there are no side effects, this is a great method to try to heal your body/brain.

I received a DAVID Delight for review purposes, it values at $295. When I opened the package I found a small backpack style carrying case, everything was neatly packed within the bag and easy as cake to put together. The contents are pictured below, with batteries included for each piece that required them.

Mind alive Review

I was the first to try out the DAVID Delight. I followed the instructions and waited until later on at night when I was able to sit quietly for an extended amount of time, this for me, is after my kids go to sleep. Placing the headphones on and selecting the meditative state, I then placed the glasses on. The lights and sounds were a slow gradual climb to becoming a bit more intense but very rhythmic and soothing. Your brain at first really tries to follow each beat and light but the more you relax into the experience the more calm you feel. The meditation setting to the ear didn’t sound much different than the other settings but that is probably because like hearing a foreign language for the first time it’s hard to decipher and distinguish words. Choosing the right session for myself was easy and explained within the operators manual.

After one session with the DAVID Delight I definitely felt more calmed and if anything it gave me a reason to sit, and just be present without thoughts of everyday and brain chatter constant. Some of the effects you can notice immediately from AVE is deeper diaphragmatic breathing, your hands and feet become warmer as arteries dilate, blood flow increases to the body and brain as well. My husband was intrigued to try this out as well as it can really improve energy levels, which is something he suffers with often. My husband felt similar to me in that the session felt relaxing and worth the it to sit and take time.

I love the idea of something for ADHD, and anxiety, that is medication free. And mediation is supposed to be helpful, but it can be difficult to start a meditative practice because of all the mental and physical distractions! What a wonderful idea! have you used this consistently? Did you find any improved sleep as well?

  • Dave Siever at Mind Alive is the inventor of these devices. You can read some more reviews and comments on their page below, as well as an interview. This technology normalizes a range of brain dynamical systems, so does even much more than ‘meditation’ alone.

Dave just presented a talk to our group of neurofeedback practitioners, you may enjoy that Youtube if you are curious about how this works on a technical level.
