Eureka airspeed all floor vacuum review

I partnered with Eureka on this review. All opinions are my own.

It snowed here in Michigan last weekend, but for the most part spring is here. We’ve had a handful of gorgeous days, my lilac bushes are in bloom and my dogs are shedding like crazy. It’s time for spring cleaning and I’ve been working on deep cleaning a little bit each day. Eureka knows that spring cleaning is on everyone’s mind this time of year, and they created this spring cleaning check list to help simplify your cleaning. The only thing I would add is focus on one room at a time. I feel overwhelmed if I look at deep cleaning the whole house. Instead, I tackle one room per day. It works for me because I feel accomplished after just a single room is done which gives me the motivation to keep going without feeling overwhelmed by all that I have to do.

I thought the steps made so much sense. I started by decluttering. We’ve only lived here since November but I was surprised how much I was able to set aside to donate. When I got to the step about cleaning floors, I was excited to tackle cleaning my floors in a new way. I live in a smaller house, it’s just two bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, bathroom and then a small laundry room. The living room is carpeted, while the remaining rooms are all laminate. I was in the habit of vacuuming the living room, and taking a broom to the remaining rooms.

Eureka air speed vacuum review

The Eureka AirSpeed All Floors Upright Vacuum is designed to be used on all types of flooring. The concept of using a vacuum on my laminate hadn’t even crossed my mind until I saw this vacuum, but I loved the concept. My two dogs shed year round, but it’s really bad during the spring and summer. It gathers in the living room the worst because that’s where they spend most of their days, but it also gathers around the cabinets, furniture and baseboards in the kitchen and in my bedroom. I have to sweep the kitchen at least twice a week, but it’s usually just from the dog hair. I thought vacuuming the kitchen and bedroom floors would be much quicker than sweeping. Plus, I hate having to touch the gobs of hair on the end of the broom. I’m all about using a vacuum so that the hair gets sucked up and can be easily dumped in a canister.

The Eureka AirSpeed All Floors has five height adjustments, from bare floors to thick carpet. It also has a brushroll on/off button that you use to control whether or not the brush bristles touch the floor or not. You want to turn them on for carpets or rugs, and off for smooth surfaces like laminate or hardwood.

Eureka airspeed all floor vacuum hose

I love how switching from floor sweeping to using the hose (and attachment tools) doesn’t require the hose to be attached or remove. With my past vacuums the hose had to be detached from the bottom, and reconnected in a different place, then the tools added. As I mentioned, my dogs hair tends to collect around furniture and baseboards, so I use the hose in every single room of my house, but I need to use the floor suction in each room as well so switching back and forth with my old vacuum was a pain. With this vacuum, the hose tool stays permanently attached to the machine, and there is a dial on one side that you turn to switch between floor suction and hose use. It’s a really quick switch that makes cleaning much easier for me because I switch back and forth between hose and floor use quite a bit. I use the vacuum in my living room and kitchen most often, and thanks to a wide opening between the two rooms and the 39-foot extension cord I can clean both rooms without changing outlets.

Eureka airspeed all floors canister

The bagless vacuum is easy to empty and the filter is easy to clean. The canister snaps out of place, and has two levers. The lever on top opens up the top of the canister to reveal the filter which can be rinsed with water and put back in once dry. Clean it regularly to help reduce allergens! The lever on the bottom of the canister opens so you can empty the hair/dirt/dust into your garbage when full.

Eureka airspeed all floors vacuum stair and upholstry attachment

I also really like the stair and upholstery brush. It attaches to the hose and has bristles so it’s like a mini floor vacuum, instead of just a suction hose. It works really well on my couch, and I’ve been using it on my dogs beds as well.

The only downside that I have found with this vacuum so far has been that it tips over easily. The hose is accordion style, so you simply pull to stretch it out. However, the pulling on the hose causes the vacuum to tip over on me. I have been trying to get in the habit of simply laying the vacuum horizontally before I start using the hose to prevent it from falling on me. Another solution would be to use two hands on the hose, one higher up to hold the hose in place, and a second hand to actually extend the hose but I find it a bit tedious to have to have both hands on the hose when trying to get in crevices so I tend to just tip it over instead. The fact that it tips over easily isn’t a big enough drawback to be problematic for me. The benefits certainly outweigh the negatives in my opinion.
