weight loss in face nutrisystem

I have been provided with a Nutrisystem plan in exchange for sharing my honest experience and results on my blog. All opinions are my own.

I'm proud to be a #NSNationBlogger. Click here to start your weight loss journey! Ryan has lost so much weight from Nutrisystem that he regularly gets asked about his progress by friends and family members now. The photo that I put in the feature still just amazes me, and the “after” photo is now a few months old so he’s lost some since then as well. He seems like a different person almost, because his bone structure shows so much more now.

Anyway, when people congratulate Ryan on his weight loss they often ask how much he’s lost. The answer is just shy of 60 pounds, which is incredible. The next question is usually “So what’s your secret?” or “So what’s the trick?”

Of course, he answers Nutrisystem because that’s how he has lost weight. However, I recently realized that some people have a misconception about Nutrisystem. They think Nutrisystem claims to have a secret trick. The commercials (and yes, some of my blog posts!) show yummy foods that come on Nutrisystem including favorites like pizzas and burgers. So people sometimes get confused and think “Is Nutrisystem saying they have some kind of magic that lets me eat whatever I want and I’ll lose weight anyway? Doesn’t that mean it’s fake or a scam?”

No. Nutrisystem does not claim that you can eat whatever you want and lose weight. Yes, you do have to watch what you eat in order to lose weight, and that is exactly what Nutrisystem helps you to do. Nutrisystem doesn’t claim to be magic, and there are no pills or magic tricks involved with Nutrisystem. Nutrisystem is a real weight loss program that really works. The reason why Nutrisystem works is because it’s a program that puts you on a meal plan designed around a set amount of calories. Nutrisystem requests your height, weight, gender, age, etc and then decides how many calories you should eat to lose weight on at a healthy rate of 1-2 pounds per week. Then they just make sure that all of the meals you are sent are within a reasonable range to hit your daily calorie goals and tell you how many meals to eat each day. In other words, Nutrisystem is not magic, it’s not unhealthy or unnatural, it’s just a low calorie diet that is made super easy to follow because your meals are sent to you and are easy to prepare. Plus, all of the foods that are sent to you are nutritious. Yes, they have pizza, burgers and muffins but these yummy meals are created with ingredients so they offer you good amounts of protein, fiber and other types of nutrition in every meal, even the ones that taste like dessert.

I totally appreciate this. So nice to see something like this actually admitting that it’s NOT a trick/miracle.

thats awesome!! 🙂 i hear a lot of people complain about the food. there are some things that i dont like, but there are some i love. and i think a lot of people who give up on nutrisystem are not adding in the fruits, veggies, proteins, etc that you are supposed to include with your meals/snacks. I was on it for a year back in 2008 and i lost 88 lbs and i was NEVER hungry. I started back on it again recently. it really does work if you follow it and find the foods you like!

My boyfriend completely agrees. He’s said before that he thinks the trick is to try as much of the menu as you can. He is a very picky eater and so his first order he selected a lot of foods that he thought were the most similar to foods he liked from before. He liked most of it, but he had a few surprising upsets where he was ‘sure’ he’d like a meal that didn’t end up suiting him. So, he branched out and decided to try menu items that he either wasn’t sure he would like or was pretty certain he would NOT like, and he actually found some favorites. The white bean and turkey chili is one of his top favorites and he never would have considered picking out a can of soup at the supermarket with that description because he didn’t think he could ever like a chili that was turkey based, he barely manages to get down turkey for thanksgiving! But, the soup has a nice spicy kick and he loved it. That convinced him to try several other entrees that include turkey and he liked several of them. So it’s been a really valuable learning experience just in finding out things like he really can like turkey if it is seasoned well!

I think people should give themselves more credit since it is their hard work but it is really hard to keep it off year after year. Just tonight they had on the National news that almost all of The Biggest Loser contestants regained back most of their weight. I’m sure it’s all for different reasons but it takes work, day after day, once the weight is off. No magic there.

I read a few of the articles on that. It’s sad but i’m not really surprised. The show picks a lot of people who are extremely obese. I have to guess that most people who are hundreds of pounds overweight aren’t just bad at making healthy food and exercise choices but they probably have emotional addictions to food so it seems like therapy and/or counseling of some type would be a big part of the solution in addition to learning about reasonable eating habits and beginning exercise. Then the weight loss process on the show is SO extreme. One article I read said that one of the people who regained weight had originally lost 239 pounds in 7 months. That rate of weight loss is pretty crazy. Most trainers and nutritionists say to aim for 1-2 pounds lost per week for a maintainable level of weight loss. Ryan has been on Nutrisystem for 9 months now and has lost just shy of 60 pounds which is a lot but nowhere near the crazy pace that biggest loser aims for. I think slow and steady, learning about food, nutrition and making changes that you can stick with long term is a much better method and that’s what Ryan has been doing with help from Nutrisystem.

I agree that Nutrisystem sometimes gets a bad rap for being a miracle food plan, allowing you to eat whatever, whenever. I think it’s great because it allows someone to be more in control of what they eat (and how many calories they consume) and providing food is a fantastic way to do this. I know that the whole process of counting calories and dieting seems like a very overwheming and somewhat confusing experience. Nutrisystem helps with this, but you must also have the want and motivation to lose the weight as well.

Weight lost has to be a lifelong choice,it all about learning about foods and the way they work in our bodies. We are trying to control what we eat by eating natural foods meaning foods not made by man like processed foods which are so high in salt and fats.Nutrisystem is great if used correctly.

The secret is “lectins” I know first hand. I lost 35 lbs in 2008 with nutrisystem. Gained it all back and some. Battled weight gain since 1995 when I turned 35. I am eating lectin free. The foods, homemade, taste just like the nutrisystem products.

Thank you for your review, I am seriously considering the nutri system plan for women.

Yes my husband lost 40 lbs but gained it all back after he stopped eating their food . I guess if you can afford it you can keep it off otherwise I wouldn’t recommend it.
