Thank you to THINX for providing me product in exchange for review. All opinions belong to me.

Periods, menstrual cycles, moon cycles, whatever you want to call them, they are inevitable, they are natural, they happen. Given that they aren’t going anywhere there should be products made to make them easier to deal with. THINX period panties are made with a woman needs in mind. THINX panties are made with women’s needs in mind. Panties that flatter the body, comfort to caress delicate skin, and material to absorb menstrual leaks! With a moisture wicking layer of material stacked on top of anti-microbial material followed by an absorbency layer and finished off with a protective leak resistant layer you can be sure that THINX panties will hold the amount they say they will. I know you may be thinking all those layers, wont the panties be bulky? The answer to that question is no, the layers are so thin yet effective that theres no need to worry about bulky panties.

THINX panties range from size XXS-XXXL with so many different style and flow options to chose from. I received a thong and hiphugger pair of undies. I found the hiphuggers very true to size and so flattering. My husband actually loves them and my response to his compliment is always “I’m glad because they give me freedom!” The highugger style panties are so silky and you can’t tell at all that they have extra material to absorb blood. The hiphuggers panties are designed for heavy days and can hold up to two tampons worth of blood before needing to be removed and washed. The panties come in colors nude and black, I went with black to stay on the safe side. The thong pair is designed for lightest days holding 1/2 a tampon before needing to be washed and dried. The Thong pair I found to be a bit on the larger side of my size scale and due to this I wasn’t able to really wear or try out the panties as I didn’t feel comfortable without the panties being really close to my skin. They do have a beautiful lace waist band that compliments and flatters the hip region.

So do they work? My normal cycle routine is a cup with a pantyliner back up. This routine works but isn’t really the best option as pantyliners are far from really breathable, not to mention the waste produced isn’t very earth friendly. Using THINX period panties gives me so much relaxation and stress relief. The THINX hiphugger panties are great with cup use, I know that I can wear my cup on the heaviest days while not being afraid of an overspill leak. The THINX period panties are not only a must for out and about days on your period but also for sleeping. The moisture wicking material does a great job to catch any blood through the night. So the THINX period panties work great as back up to a menstrual cup but do they work as a stand alone option? My periods are on the heavier side the first couple days and then it slowly weans off from there. While I haven’t yet gained the confidence to go period panty solo on my heaviest day, they are the go to underwear I can’t be without while waiting for my period to show up as well as when my period is past the heavy day and I just can’t be bothered to mess with the menstrual cup anymore.

I really love the fit, comfort and effectiveness of these panties and ideally would want and need a whole cycle set, so that I didn’t have to be without a pair while waiting for the others to wash! Want to give them a try for yourself?

Win it! 2 pair of hiphugger period panties.

I have been wanting to try these! They seem like a really great product and alternative to panty liners/ pads.

Disposable feminine products are often filled with chemicals and things that can really upset your body, and being so close to such a sensitive and absorptive area is dangerous. Personally whenever I wear them I get massive headaches. The reusability of these products is great, and wonderful/important for the earth. I suggest everyone start using reusable period products, such as this type of underwear and cups, not only for your health but for the health of the earth as well.

I just saw these featured in another article and remembered this post. People raved about them and looks like I need to try them from the great reviews and what I’ve read so far.
