Affordable Ways To Spruce Up Your Kitchen and Dining Room + American Standard Hampton Kitchen Faucet

I’m always looking for ways to make our home nicer or spruce things up.  While I don’t typically want to spend a ton of money, I do consider our home an investment and know that upkeep will have some sort of cost.  So here are some ways that I try to improve up our main areas without blowing our budget.

  1. Clean Off The Fridge:  One thing that immediately makes our kitchen look better is by removing all the junk that accumulates on our fridge.  I’ve actually started hanging photos and other important or sentimental things on the inside of our cup cupboard.  Since we open those doors many times each day, we still take notice without having our fridge look like a disaster zone.
  2. Ditch The Clutter:  Counter tops that are clean offer a more appealing and welcoming look and allow me to be more productive.  Clutter makes me shudder!
  3. Get Brighter Lighting:  While I originally wanted to put up fancy lighting, the price made us shy away.  So, instead, we found this LED “bubble light” that is much brighter than our old fixture and only cost about $80.  It’s been a huge improvement in how much light we have!
  4. Add Festive Towels & A New Tablecloth:  I have found that by purchasing some brightly colored festive/seasonal hand towels a couple times a year, I am able to brighten the kitchen for around $5 and adding a matching tablecloth pulls my two rooms together and gives a splash of color.
  5. It’s Okay To Display:  Even though I clear the clutter, I still display my bigger appliances that I use almost daily. I also have my wooden spoons in a bamboo container as well as my sea salt right next to the stove where they are handy and still look great..
  6. Diffuse Oils:  I love running my Essential Oil Diffuser as it not only puts great smells in the air, the changing colors on the diffuser look neat too.
  7. Invest In A New Faucet:  Our kitchen faucet was 12 years old and the sprayer actually leaked for the last year.  So we decided to upgrade and get a new sink and faucet to really give our mini kitchen/dining room makeover some added flair.  With so many styles and colors available, this is a really great way to update a kitchen without spending thousands.

For our new kitchen faucet, we went with American Standard’s Hampton 2 Handle High Arc Faucet w/Side Spray.  While it’s available in several colors, I really fell in love with the Oil Rubbed Bronze.  This English styled faucet features a high goose-neck spout which is awesome for filling large pots or washing big pans and dishes.  It swivels easily so I can utilize in either sink.  The Hampton also features a deck mount sprayer and two gorgeous water temperature handles.

Overall, I love my entire kitchen makeover.  I was able to completely transform the ambiance and style within the last month with the seven simple steps above and the entire room is so much more appealing and welcoming now.

I can’t change my faucet since I’m renting now but I would love this design. You can get all kinds of tall pots under this style too.

I like the Quince 1-Handle Kitchen Faucet with Side Spray. I like that it’s casual but yet makes a statement. I’d choose the stainless steel finish.
