I was sent clothing from Twiga for review. All opinions are my own.

I have a little sister who was born 2 days after my 12th birthday. I have several siblings and my relationship with each of my siblings is unique in some way. However, having a little sister born when I was already 12 made my relationship with her pretty unique from the rest. It was neat to be old enough to help feed her, change her diapers, learn to walk and talk, etc. This week she turned 13 I needed a unique gift. I’ve always found teens to be harder to shop for because they have such specific interests. I knew that she liked personalized gifts, and she wears a lot of yoga shorts and pants so I fell in love with the brand Twiga.

Twiga makes athletic clothing for girls and women that can be personalized with a name or short phrase. They have athletic shorts, capris and pants in a variety of styles. While each item is personalized, the personalization portion is pretty subtle, usually in a small area on the lower leg or the waist band. So, they are special and personalized while still looking like ‘regular’ fitness clothing at first glance.

I was sent a pair of Lily Leggings to review first hand, and a pair of Sophie shorts to gift to my sister. My sister is 13 and petite so she can wear XS in women’s or juniors sizes, or a larger or XL in girls. For tweens or teens in that size they have a ton to choose from at Twiga. The Sophie shorts that we were sent are available in the girls section and the women’s section, so you could even get matching sets for siblings (or mom!) if one person is in girls sizes and the other in women’s.

The Sophie shorts come in black, charcoal, pink, big blue or stone for girls. Then you can also personalize the color of the font on the waistband, choosing between pink, purple or blue text. For women the Sophie shorts are available in stone, charcoal pink or black and the text colors are pink purple or blue. I chose black shorts with blue writing for my sister. For the text I simply used her name, Jorden. The shorts are well made and are in a fabric is designed to wick away moisture while being breathable and soft. I gave these to my sister at her birthday party over the weekend and she loved them!

The Lily Leggings that I was sent are made of a similar high quality, wicking fabric that is breathable and soft. I’ve worn and washed mine a few times and haven’t had any problems with pilling. I wear a lot of fitness pants and pilling is a common problem that I deal with. In my experience, if pants will pill they do so after a single wash so I am pretty confident that these won’t pill which I really appreciate. They are a bit long on me, but I have very short legs so that is to be expected. The ankles are slim enough that the extra fabric just pools at my ankles which keeps it out-of-the-way when moving or working out.

My sister had friends at her party, and they all thought her shorts were neat. She’s excited to wear them for practices for sports teams in the future. I would recommend Twiga Personalized Fitness Apparel to anyone with girls or teens who like fitness apparel or are in active sports groups.
