Once our babies start on table food, I pretty much eliminate all baby food (except breast milk) and serve them what we are eating.  For most of our kids, this begins at about 9 months old.  But sometimes, the hardest part of the transition is finding proper dishes, silverware, and accessories that actually work!  Just recently, I was introduced to b.box and have fallen head over heals in love with their amazing, innovative products.

In the past when I’ve been shopping for baby cutlery, I’ve found all sorts of cutesy sets that mimic an adults, just smaller in stature.  The problem lies with the design though.  Babies and toddlers who are just learning to use spoons and forks have a really hard time getting things to stay put.  To be quite frank, even older kids and adults sometimes have those issues!  However, b.box has an amazing innovative design that I had never seen before.  Their Toddler Cutlery Sets offers a unique patented fork design that grabs food easily as well as fits small mouths.

Also in their cutlery set comes a spoon and travel case.  The angle and design of the spoon also offers easy scooping and a smooth transition to the mouth.  Both the spoon and fork are easy to hold and offer children the encouragement needed to build independence.

Next, on to cups.  Since most of our kiddos refused bottles, we would transition to a sippy cup of water blended with nursing at about the same time that we started table food.  It can be tricky teaching little ones how to suck and it’s fairly common for them to learn how to use a straw quicker than a sippy.  The big problem with this transition is that they don’t realize the cup doesn’t need to be tipped when using a straw.  The result is usually a very wet lap.  b.box has solved this problem by utilizing a weighted straw in their Sippy Cups!  This is perfect because it offers spill-proof drinking, yet, still allows the child to receive liquid even if the cup is tipped up to drink.  This is perfect for our daughter because even after a year of cup drinking, she will still tip her straws cups about 50% of the time.

The b.box Kids Plate has also become a quick favorite.  The easy to grip handles are one of my favorite features but I also love the low dividers so I can still keep food separate.  Measuring in at 10.2×7.5×0.6″, it’s a great size for young eaters and the bright colors keep mealtime fun.

Finally, the last neat product I wanted to tell you about is the b.box Bowl & Straw.  The title is a little deceiving as this is not JUST a bowl and straw, it also comes with a bonus snack insert to turn it into an on-the-go snack trap!  This bowl has two handles and allows kids to eat soup and cereal in an easy and even fun way.  Our little girl’s favorite part about having a bowl of cereal is sucking all the milk out and this bowl allows her to do that without making a big mess.  Plus, I really like the fact that b.box made this set dual purpose by allowing the clip-on straw to pop off and the bowl can be converted to a snack trap.  Truly genius!
