From the week our kids are born, they are introduced to wondrous worlds through books because every night, we all gather around for family story time.  My husband and I feel that instilling a love of reading is important so we rarely miss this time together.  Then, as the newborns grow into curious babies, their toy box always holds a few board books in the mix.  By the time they are toddlers, they typically initiate book time throughout the day.

So as I hinted, all five of our kiddos absolutely adore books and with Summer here, reading books is a great way to keep the kids busy and beat the boredom blues.  I love watching our (almost) 2 year old daughter as she goes crazy for them, especially if they have animals or babies on them or make music.  So these great new titles from WorthyKids/Ideals have been great.

God Made You Just Right:  Right off the bat our little girl loved the dogs and cats in this book.  As we read it, the rhyming pattern made it appealing and fun as we read about how God created each one of us in just the right way.  The whimsical and brightly colored illustrations are also quite engaging.

Happy Birthday To You!:  I love when invitations request books instead of cards.  It’s a great way to invest in something that will last for years to come as opposed to ending up in the trash the same day.  The best part: The back page offers a place to insert a photo as well as a “To” and “From” spot to sign!  This Happy Birthday To You board book quickly became a favorite because of the sing-along song that plays with a push of the button.  Our little girl has been carrying this book around and “dancing” to the birthday song ever since it arrived. 

Baby, Baby!:  This sweet rhyming book shares about all the things baby can do.  Each page is paired with colorful images of babies engaged in a variety of activities to go with the words.  The front is embellished with a small mirror but the very last page has a big mirror with the final lines of “Who does God Love? God loves ______.”  So baby’s name can be written into the story!  So precious! 

My First Trick Or Treat:  This adorable book is a cheerful collection of simple words to describe the image on each page and it’s a great way to introduce the tradition of trick-or-treating to little ones.  It’s the trimmest book from the four we received as it only measures in at 5″x5″ so it’s perfect for slipping in the diaper bag. 

Our kiddos have been thrilled with these new releases from WorthyKids/Idea.  The pages are sturdy and perfect for the youngest of children yet the stories, illustrations, and rhymes are enjoyed by older kids too.  So be sure to check out all of their books to keep the kids occupied during the long summer days.
