nutrisystem frozen snacks

I have been provided with a Nutrisystem plan in exchange for sharing my honest experience and results on my blog. All opinions are my own.

This week’s Nutrisystem update post is about a somewhat silly discovery that Ryan made recently. Most of Ryan’s favorite snack options from Nutirsytem are the frozen ones, in particular the ice cream style options. However, they all seem to freeze REALLY well. The ice cream freezes so solid that it’s hard to scoop out with a spoon. You can only imagine how hard it is to bite into the fudge bars when they are frozen that solid as well! I have always had an aversion to biting ice cream, sherbert or anything else frozen. It even makes me uncomfortable to watch other people bite into ice cream! Ryan doesn’t have that aversion, but biting into the REALLY frozen snack items is physically uncomfortable sometimes and causes brain freeze.

After months of just tolerating the discomfort when he wanted the frozen items, he realized recently that he can ‘prep’ these items in the microwave! You have to be really careful to not over-do it, but in our microwave if you leave the frozen snacks in the microwave for about 3-5 seconds they will soften up without actually melting at all which makes it possible to eat them without biting right in.

I bet you could get the ice cream soft by leaving it on the counter as well. However, Ryan thought he would likely forget about it being on the counter until it was too late. So he uses the microwave trick instead and that works well.

On the health and fitness side of things, Ryan is really happy to be back on Nutrisystem full-time. You may recall from last week that we had run out of Nutrisystem for a couple of weeks by accident. He was surprised that he was excited to go back to Nutrisystem foods that he had missed. He really values the structure, too.

Do you bite into frozen snacks or are you like me and can only tolerate licking?
