I have been provided with a Nutrisystem plan in exchange for sharing my honest experience and results on my blog. All opinions are my own.
Ryan has lost over 60 pounds since he first started Nutrisystem. His plan is still the same calorie-wise, so his weight loss is slower now than it was early on. It now takes less calories to maintain his current size, so that’s to be expected. It’s also common for weight loss to slow if you’re exercising to build muscle (such as weight lifting) instead of just doing cardio. Ryan has been focusing more on weights than cardio the last few months, so I suspect that is also part of why his weight loss has slowed. It’s tough to see week-to-week if he’s losing at all. This week the scale was .7 less than last week, but sometimes that fluctuation can happen day to day based on things like the time of day that he weighed himself, and how much water he’s been drinking.
As the scale gets a bit harder to read, we’ve found ourselves looking more at non-scale victories, such as his clothing size, physical changes in his body and so on. Last week I shared how he now is in the clothing sizes that he originally aimed for. This weeks’ non-scale victory came from a commercial.
This is the same shirt!
We don’t have a converter box so we can’t watch local TV, and we don’t pay for cable or satellite either. We exclusively rely on Netflix and a few TV channel websites that allow access to their full episodes. As a result, we don’t see nearly as many commercials as people with traditional television. However, last week we were at Ryan’s moms and we saw a Nutrisystem commercial aimed at men. It showed several men with before photos, and then ‘now’ videos discussing their weight loss. There were three men, and the man who lost the most said he had lost 60 pounds. It was really cool to see that Ryan has now lost as much (and in some cases MORE) than the men on the Nutrisystem commercials. Of course, we already knew he was a success story but seeing that he has reached commercial-level success felt pretty good.

Ryan is looking terrific, and I bet he feels like a million bucks. You can really see the difference in how the shirt fits! I bet you are so proud of him, it is never easy, and he has proven it can be done. Way to go Ryan!

What’s a commercial? No TV for me. I think it’s great what Ryan has accomplished.

Great that Ryan is lifting weights. Women who are chronic dieters would have an easier time of it if they would also put on a bit more muscle, which burns more calories. I never had cable or Netflix. I still have a converter box I received for free with a coupon. I don’t even have batteries in its remote, so I change the channel manually, lol. I don’t watch it much.

I am so proud of his progress. Losing weight and changing your lifestyle is very hard. He has done a great job at it.

Oh yeah, I can see the difference around the middle. It’s great that it is working well for him.
