Thank you to Nutrisystem for providing me with products in exchange for this honest blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.

While on Nutrisystem, they suggest you get at least thirty minutes of exercise each day. You can choose whatever form of exercise you like. What really matters, is that you get up and move for at least thirty minutes a day. You can start with three sets of ten-minute workouts if the full thirty minutes is too long or if you simply don’t have that block of time.

I dislike traditional forms of exercise. I am not one that will go to the gym nor will I consistently do an exercise program at home. Traditional forms of exercise bore me and that results in me not wanting to do them. I prefer to get my exercise in other ways- stacking firewood, moving hay bales, cleaning the barn, yard work, dancing with my daughters, or running around with our dogs. On days when I need to be in town, I park in the furthest parking spot from the building I am going into. If it’s an option, I take the stairs rather than an elevator. These tricks for getting exercise work for me.

What is your favorite way to exercise?

My progress this week
Weight loss- no change (I am having my period.)
Arms- no change
Waist- no change
Hips- loss of .5 inch
Thighs- no change
Calves- loss of 1 inch
Total- loss of 1.5 inch
Grand total- 40.5 inches and 20 pounds

My non-scale victories this week- We had our first (of many) Christmas gatherings. It was nice to visit with my husband’s family. I didn’t feel the need to hide from photos. It was also nice that the outfit I wanted to wear, fit me perfectly. I didn’t need to change my outfit several times trying to find something that fit and I didn’t break down crying while trying getting dressed. Hurray!

Happy holidays to you and yours!

You are doing great and I bt you looked wonderful in the pictures.
Your form of exercise sounds a bit like mine only we are no longer on a farm. We do use a woodburner, so hauling wood, splitting when needed, shoveling, working outside is my preferred way. Love the picture of your farm and the dog!

I read somewhere and have never forgotten it that there is no exercise like housework. So, when I clean windows or something I think of it as exercise.

I enjoy following your journey. I love to swim and do it 3 times a week.

  • I like your farm work exercises. They are very good. Good luck with the holidays, I know they are hard but you will make good choices.

I do the same thing- park far away so I can walk more. Like you the gym bores me. I’d rather do housework or yardwork, not only are you getting something you need done at home but you are moving around and getting a form of exercise. We’ve had too much food around the office and home so the food temptations and some giving in have been hitting me hard.

I need to get back to the fitness center – I don’t mind just walking the track or the recumbent bike. I had a major surgery this summer and am just getting back to full strength.

Great job keeping up with your diet routine! That is definitely not easy to do during the Holidays. Keep up the great work! 🙂

Always wanted to try Nutrisystem. I heard it’s expensive, but probably worth it in the end if you continue to do it. I don’t think you need any change your beautiful and skinny just the way you are. I don’t really exercise that often because of my depression/anxiety but when I do I will ride a bike if the weather is nice or take the pigs/dogs for a walk.

    • Tara, thank you for your kind words. I wanted to reach out to you because you mentioned depression/anxiety. I have struggled with both. Anxiety is my current challenge. I have full-fledged panic attacks, quite often. I am noticing the further I go on my journey, the better I am becoming at dealing with my anxiety. Obviously, I can not directly say that this is the result of Nutrisystem. I am sure it is a combination of things. If you ever have questions or want to talk, please feel free to email me. Good luck!

Your dog is so pretty !! I like to fit in exercise by taking the stairs and going hiking as a family.

Im opposite I love the gym and a good long run. I also love to go ballroom dancing, take the dogs on a walk, go shopping, etc. We also moved close to disney, and the days we go to the parks I end up walking miles.
