The weather outside is frightful and it’s definitely more delightful indoors. While I’m not a huge fan of the freezing Minnesota winters, I do enjoy some of the yummy foods that come with this time of year. I have a great chili recipe as well as some delicious soups, and other comfort foods that definitely make the days a bit more bearable. Pampered Chef is known for their innovative and amazing kitchen products and their brand new Rockcrok Dutch Oven XL is definitely going to become a quick favorite for many. The extra large 8 quart size features 11” diameter pot that includes a sleek glass lid. I love the fact that I can take this from the oven to the stove top to the table seamlessly and it looks gorgeous too! The Rockcrok has been created from a clay and is heat-resistant to 752°F (allowing me to boil, braise, simmer, slow cook, grill, microwave, bake, and fry!) while the glass lid is rated oven safe for up to 400 degrees. The see through glass lid is a huge bonus for me as I love being able to see what’s happening when I cook.

Of course, Pampered Chef is also known for their yummy recipes and they send along 8 great exclusives but I decided to test this out with one of my family’s tried and true favorites, a Taco Soup recipe that I received from a lady at church about 10 years ago!
Taco Soup Recipe
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 6 cups water
- 4 beef bouillon cubes
- 1 cup medium salsa
- 3/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 cup Acine Di Pepe, uncooked (I use an organic alphabet pasta that’s similar in size.)
- 1 small to medium size onion
- sour cream
- shredded cheese
~Season and brown hamburger and onion together in your Pampered Chef Rockcrok Dutch Oven XL.
~Once browned, add the water, bouillon cubes, salsa, chili powder, and cumin.
~Turn burner on medium, place cover on pot, and stir often as you heat to boiling.
~Add uncooked pasta and cook uncovered at a medium boil for 12 minutes. Be sure to STIR FREQUENTLY!
~Serve sprinkled with shredded cheese and sour cream.
***Serving size is about 4 for the above recipe but the generous size of the Rockcrok Dutch Oven XL makes it perfect for creating a double batch of this yummy soup so you can feed up to 8 or 9 adults!
Another great feature of the Rockcrok Dutch Oven XL is the fact that clean up is a breeze as it’s dishwasher safe too! So once you’ve devoured your delicious soup, you don’t have to worry about dishes either!
Overall, I absolutely love this Rockcrok Dutch Oven. The quality was immediately evident upon un-boxing and I was thrilled with the even cooking and ease of creating a meal with this pot. I love spending time with my family and meal time is a great way to catch up, enjoy quality conversations, and really enjoy each other. Since Pampered Chef makes the prep and clean up easy, I’m able to focus on the memories we make instead!
