Contacts, some people swear by them others have yet to experience them. For me contacts were the perfect solution for my vision needs because I just couldn’t adapt to glasses in my life. I hated the rim of glasses in my sight all the time as well as the need to clean them often. I was first prescribed monthly contacts which were ok, but I don’t wear contacts everyday so I found them “expiring” their 30 day use with only a handful of wears on them. It was once I began a Sightbox membership that I was able to feel the comfortability of changing contact type.
Sign up through Sightbox was simple and to the point. I filled out my information on their site saying how often I wore contacts currently and what I had hoped to change for in the future. Of course changing contacts isn’t necessary at all through Sightbox but after talking with my eye doctor we decided a change might be for the better for my personal vision needs. Next step was getting an email that needed my available days with a couple hints and tricks to the eye care scheduling world, i.e. when I’d most likely be able to get in and when their busiest times were.
I chose to be seen by an eye doctor that Sightbox researched and found high reviews on to be sure I felt comfortable speaking with the eye doctor about any and every question I had regarding my vision. The eye doctor chosen was a mere fifteen minutes away from me and the staff was all so friendly! The Optometrist I was seen by wanted to be very sure I was getting the right fit which required a couple appointments in order to confirm my prescription. Who would have known that contacts really do change so much based on brand and wear frequency!
Sightbox was fluent in communication with my eye care provider as they shared the same understanding with appointment times and prescription confirmation. Within two weeks after my confirmation appointment I received a bright blue box on my front porch! Inside my Sightbox was a 30 day supply of the current contact prescription along with a detailed rewards program!
Sightbox is perfect for the men in your life who can’t be bothered to schedule their vision appointments as well as teens who are just learning the basics of scheduling appointments. As a stay at home mom with two kids Sightbox is perfect as there is no need for me to keep our shared car and drive to pick up contacts. Ease of scheduling is also important to me as a mom with a busy schedule. There was no need to look up office hours and try to squeeze in a phone call to the office, instead I was able to offer my available times.
The value of Sightbox is also a high point to mention as most first time eye appointments, as well as follow ups are very costly in my area and using Sightbox helped to manage that cost as well as the contacts that I chose for my prescription given that we don’t have vision insurance.
I am a stay at home mother of two, who loves to create in every form, from cooking, to henna, to painting or sculpting, creating with my hands is my passion! I love to dance and let loose when the music flows right. Being outside is a special kind of therapy I think humans need more of as well as mindfulness! I love all things new and adventurous and am always looking to experience more of life 🙂

Hmmm…that’s interesting! My husband switches between glasses and contacts. My son wears glasses but is wanting to get contacts.

Wow!! Sounds so convenient!! I know that finding time in a busy schedule to have any appointment can be daunting. This sounds like it makes life SO much easier!! I also love that you could enter the frequency that you wore them as well!! So personal to you!

I have not heard of Sightbox before this. I have been wearing contacts for many, many years and this sounds like a great idea to me.

I had contacts for many years, first as a teen, so I know what a pain they can be, especially when you’re so busy. This is a great option.

Please read the company’s terms of service (cancellation policy) and look at online reviews! It very likely may be less expensive to do this on your own. Many optometrists give a discount to those without vision coverage, may price match on contacts, and give rebates, among other things. Be careful.

The goal of Sightbox is designed for people seeking out the most convenient way to get contacts and to avoid running out. They don’t claim to be the cheapest possible option. 🙂
