premier protein shakes

I was sent product from Premier Protein and I was compensated. All opinions are my own.

When my boyfriend started working towards losing weight in July of 2015 we started researching. Neither of us had really been taught much about food or nutrition growing up. Of course, we had heard things like fruits and veggies are good for you, and we knew basic things like how eating too many calories causes weight gain. We didn’t know much about protein, fiber, sugar, fat, carbs, and so on.

We learned that the easiest way to make a low-calorie diet manageable in terms of hunger was to use your calories to get a lot of protein, fiber and healthy fats because those keep you feeling fuller longer. Protein shakes are a wonderful way to get a ton of protein in your system to keep you feeling full without consuming too many calories.

Ryan has been a regular protein shake drinker for over a year and a half now. He just recently tried Premier Protein shakes. They are a little better nutritionally than the other brands he has used. The shakes are available in five varieties – chocolate, vanilla, strawberries and cream, bananas and cream and caramel. Each shake has 30g of protein in 160 calories, and includes 24 different vitamins and minerals. Plus, they have just 1g of sugar!

For being really high quality shakes nutritionally, they taste really good. Ryan tried to varieties, chocolate and bananas and cream protein shake. He really loved the chocolate variety, and found the banana ones enjoyable as well, though he found it to be more ‘cream’ than banana flavored. He enjoyed the cartons that the drinks came in because they make it really quick and easy to run out of the house with a drink that will keep him full until he gets back home. No need to grab junk while on the go!

If you prefer powder, Premier Protein also makes chocolate whey protein powder so you can mix your own shakes at home. We were sent a Chocolate shake mix variety. You can make your own shakes by adding 1 scoop of powder per 6-8oz of water and mixing well. This will create a shake that is 180 calories, with 30g of protein and just 2g of sugar. Plus, there are no artificial flavor or colors used. Ryan has been using this to make plain shakes, but you could also use it as flavoring in a smoothie or even for cooking.

We haven’t yet tried any, but Premier Protein also makes protein bars. They have 7 different bar varieties available. Their nutritional information varies slightly but just as one example, their Dark Chocolate Almond bar has 30g of protein, 3g of fiber and 0g of trans fat, hydrogenated oils, and no high fructose corn syrup.

Win it: 5 shakes (one of each flavor) and 7 protein bars (also a variety set). This giveaway is open to the US only and will end 2/9/2017.

I’d like the cartons to keep in my car so I could have one after swimming.
    Thanks for the contest.

I started drinking Premier Protein after weight loss surgery as an easier way to reach my daily protein goal. I love that I can get 30 grams in one shake. I have never seen the Caramel one but I will definitely be buying it, I bet it would be great in iced coffee!

We’ve tried the chocolate shakes and we loved them. My daughter would take one in the morning if she didn’t feel like eating. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the powder.

  • I just started drinking and eating some protein bars and shakes. They are really fulfilling.

I had a chance this weekend to taste the Premier Protein Shakes and I have to say they were not bad. I think I will buy some and see if they work for me.
