Obermeyer Wasatch jacket review
By Lakota

March 8th, 2017

Thank you to Obermeyer for providing me with product in exchange for review purposes. All opinions are my own.

Michigan is pretty known for cold bitter winters. Michigan is also pretty known for a fluctuating winter weather pattern. Some winter days in Michigan can be in the single digits with other days in the 40’s. My husband has typically always toughed out every bitter Michigan winter with a thick sweatshirt or two. Limiting outside time to a minimum during the winter is how he was able to get by in a sweater for the past few years. Well limited exposure and probably the remote starter for our car! This winter however he experienced warmth within a cold winter with the Obermeyer Wasatch Jacket.

Obermeyer Mens Review

This Jacket not only looks sharp but has so many features to make it so functional.

The pockets on this coat seem endless, which is great for sunglasses, gloves, phone and anything else you might need to carry.

The pockets while deep are super slim and add no bulk to the body of the jacket, which is really flattering compared to some larger bulky winter coats.

My husband really loved the cozy fleece cuffs which helped keep cold air and snow powder out.

There are quite a few unique ski features of this coat. One feature being the underarm of the coat unzips to reveal a mesh opening to allow for better airflow to the torso region.

An inner goggle pocket shown in the above picture is perfect and soft for storing ski goggles when not using.

That same pocket also has a clip with a special lens cleaning cloth inside. Talk about useful on a powdery ski hill!

Obermeyer skipped no steps when creating this jacket. An inner shell elastic band with grip strip keeps your jacket from slipping and riding up while you tear up the slopes. Wind creeping up into your coat is also avoided with the very bottom cinch cable adjusting to your waist size and staying there. Of course this jacket comes equipped with signature Obermeyer HydroBlock material and insulation to ensure your warm, and dry no matter the weather. Seams are sealed on this coat to protect your inner core from melted snow. To buy your own Wasatch jacket or learn more about the amazing features follow this link here.

Those cozy fleece cuffs set this jacket apart. Everyone in a winter state knows that the cold air just rushes right up those sleeves!

I really like plaid. This looks like good quality too. Wouldn’t mind buying this for a guy family member and borrowing it. 😉

Is that Ryan? Goodness he is looking different!
My husband sounds like him as far as toughing the weather. I am really liking this jacket. I like the looks of it and also the pockets. I really like the one where glasses would go. Snow can be brighter than the sun as far as glare.

    • I know it’s a bit much to keep up with sometimes but we have a few different women who write posts for the blog. This post was written by Lakota and features her husband, Louis. Posts mentioning Ryan are written by me – Emily, the blog owner. 🙂

Ha! I didnt even notice the byline. I saw the darker hair and thought it was Ryan. He has lost so much weight and seeing him changing, it is hard to keep up sometimes on this end too 🙂
