My kids really enjoy doing scientific experiments at home. When I was asked to review The Crazy Scientist LAB from The Purple Cow, I knew it would be a hit!
The Crazy Scientist LAB – Young Detectives kit enables kids to conduct experiments in their at-home laboratory. The set comes with all the necessary supplies, instructions as well as scientific information to support each of the experiments. The Young Detectives kit lessons are based on fingerprints. Young detectives get to take their own fingerprints and learn how to read them, learn how to extract fingerprints from invisible surfaces, and build a 3D finger mold!
I asked my kids to share a few thoughts with you about the kit, here is what they had to say-
“When you get your detective kit, you will be surprised by how many fun activities there are! The experience to get to play with all of the items was a blast. When you are done with the lessons, you may have leftover ingredients to do your own experiments. How fun is that!” Savannah, 10 years old
“The detective kit is really fun! It is a bit messy though. I think a lof of kids and grown-ups will love this fun and mysterious kit. It is a great idea to do this!” Cheyenne, 8 years old.
This kit is suggested for kids ages six and up. Parental supervision is required during experiments.
In addition to The Crazy Scientist Lab kit, I also received two magnetic travel games – Hangman and Reversi. Both games come in tin cases perfect for storage as well as travel. We took our games in my carry-on bag last month when we flew across the US. (In case you are wondering, I didn’t have any problems taking them through security.) Hangman and Reversi games were a great way to pass time on our long flights.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

This looks like a whole lot of fun! I like these where it isnt just up to the kids . Its important to spend time and this would be ideal. I think the grown ups would enjoy playing along too

These at home experiments look like a blast! My oldest daughter is 8 and loves doing science experiments and fun projects at home! I will definitely have to get her a few for summer, thanks for sharing! 🙂
These really look like fun. Wish they had something like this when my kids were small, but my grandchildren will like them when they get old enough.
