I received samples from Blue Orange Game to facilitate this review.  All opinions are my own.

If your kids are feeling bored or you see the Summer Brain Drain happening, consider picking up a few new board games.  Not only will they help keep children entertained and hopefully lessen any fighting, games also get kids thinking!  Some of our favorite games over the years have come from Blue Orange Games and I’m thrilled to partner with them today and share this newest release with you.

Dr. Beaker – Shake It, Stir It, Solve It

Stirring up excitement has never been easier than with the Dr. Beaker – Shake it, Stir it, Solve it! Game.  Geared for ages 8 and up and 2-4 players, we’ve found that slightly younger kids can also enjoy this game too.  (Our almost 7 year old managed well but our 5 year old did struggle.  So overall, I’d try to stick to the 8 and up recommendation.)  The concept is fairly simple.  Players each get one beaker, one set of colored balls, and a stirring stick.  When everyone is ready, a card is turned over and players race to get their beaker elements to match the card.  The first player to match the card and shout eureka wins that card.  The game continues until the cards are gone and the player with the most cards at the end wins.  Of course, players can accommodate and change up rules however they’d like to make the game easier or harder, based on ability of players.   Each round is a quick race so the game is fast paced which is nice.

I love the science angle to this game! We need more kids interested in STEM careers.

This looks like such a fun and educational game! I knowyou oldest two would have a blast playing it, and wouldn’t even realize that they were learning at the same time. 😉 Thanks for sharing!

This looks like fun. I am in favor for anything that helps kids avoid brain drain. Having worked in the schools you spend a whole lot of time reteaching. This is stimulating and would hold their interest.
