When introduced to something new, it is quite natural to have questions. How does it work? Will it work? How long will it take? And so on. Today, I hope to answer some questions you may have about Nutrisystem. Let’s get started.

Q. Are there restrictions on who can use Nutrisystem to lose weight?

A. Yes. Those with certain conditions should not use the Nutrisystem weight loss program. If you are pregnant, allergic to soy, peanuts, or latex (which is used in food processing), have anorexia or bulimia, have chronic kidney disease, or have a condition requiring a gluten-free or ketogenic diet, you should not use the Nutrisystem weight loss program. Minors younger than 14 years of age, may not be on the Nutrisystem program. Adolescents aged 14-17 years require a specific meal plan and physician’s approval to participate. Nursing mothers also require an adjusted Nutrisystem meal plan. Men weighing in excess of 450 lbs. and women weighing in excess of 400 lbs. require doctors clearance before beginning the Nutrisystem program. Q. Can I eat out on the Nutrisystem dieting program?

A. Yes, but make wise choices. Once on the Nutrisystem weight loss program, you will have access to two tools to help you stay on track. Q. Do I have to exercise to lose weight on the Nutrisystem program?

A. Nutrisystem encourages you to get a minimum of  150 minutes of moderately intense physical activity each week.   To help you achieve this, Nutrisystem created the My Daily 3 plan, which focuses on achieving at least 30 minutes of physical activity per day. My Daily 3 is designed to encourage you to get you moving, this will in turn help boost your metabolic burn for maximum weight loss and fat-burning results. My Daily 3 will help you achieve 30 minutes of physical activity each day. Based on your abilities, you can get your 30 minutes of activity all at once or spread out over shorter sessions. Be sure to include strength training routines 2 days a week to exercise your major muscle groups and maximize your health benefits.

Q. How long does it take to lose weight?

A. Studies show that losing 1 to 2 pounds per week is a healthy, sustainable weight loss range.

Q. Will I be hungry on the Nutrisystem diet program?

A. Nutrisystem meals are a great source of protein and fiber. They have been designed to be nutrient-dense and low glycemic. Foods low on the glycemic index help reduce blood sugar spikes and control hunger in between meals. You will also be eating throughout the day, this will help keep you feeling fuller longer. If you find that you are still hungry contact your Nutrisystem counselor who can help you figure out a plan.

Q. How do I get started on the Nutrisystem weight loss program?

A. Getting started with Nutrisystem is fairly quick and easy. Look over each of the  4-week diet and weight loss programs and choose which is right for you. If customization is available, you can choose the ready-to-go or frozen foods you’d like to try. Everything will be delivered right to your doorstep. In very little time, you will be ready to begin losing weight.

Q. How do I know what fresh grocery items to add into my program?

A. To complete your Nutrisystem weight loss program, you will need to add-in vegetables, fruit, and low-fat dairy and protein choices. Nutrisystem grouped these grocery additions into 3 simple categories called PowerFuels, SmartCarbs, and Vegetables. Descriptions of these foods can be found in your personalized Daily Tracker. You will receive a Daily Tracker with your first order.

Q. What are flex meals?

A. Nutrisystem’s  weight loss programs include something called Flex Meals. Flex meals are meals you make on your own using Nutrisystem guidelines. Flex Meals help teach you healthy habits so you can maintain your weight loss after you reach your goal. Nutrisystem found that when members regularly ate flex meals, were more successful when eating off plan and were more comfortable preparing meals when in maintenance mode. While on a Nutrisystem weight loss plan, you will have one flex lunch, dinner, breakfast and snack and each week.

I am surprised kind of at the weight limit one. I mean, it kind of makes sense, but I would think any program especially one like this would help. I also like that they have age limits and encourage exercise.

I don’t drink alot of water, am I aloud to drink vitamin zero drink, also can I have more than one cup of coffee in the morning?

    • Nutrisystem allows unlimited amounts of any zero-calorie beverage, so the vitamin zero drink you can drink as much as you want of. Coffee is extremely low calorie (like 1-2 calories a cup) when black. So if you drink black coffee yes it’s fine to drink as much as you want of that as well. If you want to add in no-calorie sweeteners to your coffee that would still be fine. But no sugar, creamer, etc then that would add calories which would not fit the Nutrisystem plan.
