For the last 6 months, I have been working really hard to get my body in shape and toned. I live in Oregon, and since I don’t like working out in the rain, wind, snow, that means there are only a few months out of the year that the weather is nice enough for me to exercise comfortably outside. I need a variety of exercise activities that I can do inside. I have found that I really enjoy exercise DVDs with circuit training. My favorite DVDs are from Jillian Michaels.

I was recently given the opportunity to try  the NEW Jillian Michaels DVD called Hard Body.  I just adore Jillian Michaels. She makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time. In her new DVD, Hard Body, Jillian kicks butt as only Jillian can. She jumps through your TV, gets in your face and cheers you on. She both challenges and encourages you to give it your all.

Hard Body has two 45 minute workouts. They are fast paced and work your entire body. Jillian has models showing how to do the exercise in different degrees of difficulty. Right now, I am doing my best with the beginner workout. I look forward to the day when I can do the advanced workout. The first time I used the Hard Body DVD, I wanted to die. Lol. I was exhausted. I went to bed early that night…and I LOVED IT!

On the DVD case, Jillian asks if you are “ready to take your body to the next level?” If you answer “YES!” then this is the DVD for you!

Jillian Michaels is on facebook and twitter.

  • My daughter is looking for some new exercises so I’ll have to show her your post. It is so rewarding to see the results in a program like this one.

  • Jillian’s 30 Day Shred is a permanent fixture in my DVD player. I’d love to try out this new workout and switch things up a bit.

  • I love Jillian’s workout too. I haven’t tried this one but it sounds great and with spring and summer around the corner I’ve been thinking about getting back into a regular workout routine. I’d love to give it a try!

Hi, this DVD just came out today, so I can’t find many reviews about it. I stumbled upon your page and was just wondering if you could give a bit more information about the workouts, like what they include and how often they should be done?

I just finished her Body Revolution series, and I liked it because the schedule was pretty straightforward – work a certain set of muscles on one day, another set the next day for two weeks, move on to the next set of exercises, etc. When I saw that this just had 2 exercises it made me wonder if it was worth it. Is it a full body workout? Then I’m thinking it shouldn’t be done ever day so the muscles have time to recover. How would you know when to move from the first 45 minute exercise to the next one? Or are they similar in terms of the type of workout and intensity that you can alternate them?

Just trying to find out more information, so any more details you can provide would be helpful. Thanks!

    • Hello Ayesha. Those are wonderful questions. Thank you! Both of the Hard Body workouts are about 45 minutes long. They are fast-paced full body workouts that gradually increase in difficulty. I rotate my circuit training days with cardio days…like you said, this gives muscles time to recover. I would/am doing the first exercise until I feel that it is no longer challenging me, then I will move to the second. What I love about Jillian’s DVDs is that she shows us how to increase the intensity by adding weights or modifying our movements. For me, Hard Body was the toughest Jillian workout I have ever done. It really was like a mini “last chance workout.” I hope this helps. Thank you again for your questions.
