budgeting with home zada

This is a Fashionista Event and a promotional item was provided to me by HomeZada. Hosts for this event are Still Blonde after all these Years and ModlyChic.

Since moving into a duplex back in January, I’ve been surprised at how many home-related ideas, projects, products, etc I have running through my head each day. Since turning 18 almost 5 years ago, I had always either lived with family or in an apartment complex. Having a duplex feels so much more like my own space and our landlord is pretty open to letting us personalize it to our needs. Our previous apartments inside of complexes didn’t even want us hanging up pictures because it would leave holes in the walls, so it just didn’t feel like our own home nearly as much as our current place does. I’ve found myself making wish-lists for products to buy for our home as well as DIY and decorating ideas that I hope to someday complete. It feels great to dream about these things and to start budgeting for some of it, but it’s easy to lose track of what we plan to do and when.

HomeZada is a website that helps you plan, organize and budget for all things related to your home. They have a free version and a premium version that have different features. Some of the features include budgeting for projects, tracking purchases, keeping a home inventory list, schedules for cleaning and home maintenance, tracking warranties and receipts, and saving important property documents. When you go onto the site, it will have reminders from your to-do list. I do pretty well with managing daily and weekly chores, but often forget about rare tasks like checking smoke alarms, clearing the bathroom exhaust fan, and clearing attic vents of debris. I use to-do lists for other household tasks, so I thought creating a yearly to-do list was a good idea but who knows of I could even keep track of the piece of paper for the entire year. Using HomeZada to keep track of these chores makes much more sense.

Virtually everything on HomeZada can be personalized to your needs. In my case, we can’t do any major changes to the structure of our home so we won’t be adding any additions or anything like that. I don’t have to fill out or use those aspects of HomeZada, but I can use what does apply to me such as home maintenance and household expenses. You can remove expenses that don’t apply to you (such as a mortgage, in my case) and add customized ones that you have.

I’m a little behind the times and like to use websites from my laptop. However, if you are a smartphone user, you can download the HomeZada app to manage your household from your phone.
