Thank you to Buttons Cloth Diapers for sending me product, free of charge, for review.  All opinions are my own.

I am a little shocked at how much I seriously love cloth diapering.  I was probably the last person anyone would think would even give cloth a try since I didn’t even like to clean dirty clothes when our kids had a blow-out in disposables.  Once potty training came along, I would throw any accident undies away!  My husband was the one who was willing to clean them.  After all that, though, I had a complete change of heart when our 4th child reacted to the very expensive “green” disposables we were buying.  My 2014 New Years Resolution was to give cloth a real try for a minimum of one month.  It’s now been seven months and I haven’t looked back.

For this review, Buttons Diapers sent me their Acres Diaper Cover along with a daytime insert and doubler and a pack of their Cotton Flannel Wipes.  Since we farm, the Acres Cover became an instant favorite of my husbands.  This one size diaper cover is adjustable by snaps and fits most children in the 9# to 35# weight range.  The elastic by the legs, top, and back of the diaper cover help prevent any leaks and allows for a snug secure fit.  One feature I find really useful is that the inserts attach to the diaper cover by two snaps.  One at the top and one at the bottom to keep from sliding or shifting out of place.  For diaper changes, just unsnap the insert and snap in a new one.  The cover only needs to be washed if it gets dirty.

One mistake I made the very first time I had tried cloth was prepping, or lack of, the diapers and inserts.  I had no idea that was something that had to be done.  Thankfully, Buttons Diapers included a “Care Card” for their products which includes instructions on how to prep before use.  Perfect for any new comers in the cloth world so they can avoid the frustration of leaks and puddles like I had.

Our son is an active 2 year old and our Buttons “Acres” Diaper and Inserts have been working well for us.  I use the doubler with the daytime insert all the time because he is a heavy wetter but we have experienced no leaks so far.  Running, jumping, playing, or just being a boy, our son seems to like this diaper too.

Buttons Diapers also included a package of their 100% Cotton Flannel Wipes for me to try.  While I have not yet made the jump to reusable wipes, these little wipes have worked well for washing our kids up after snacks and meals.  Then, I just toss them in with my daily load of diaper laundry.  I no longer am using and throwing away paper towels daily and the cloth is much softer and more efficient for this purpose.
