I’m panicking!! 12 pound freezer-to-oven Jennie O bird has been in the oven 3.5 hours and it’s still frozen in the middle!!! Guests arriving soon, and no turkey. Will never buy this crap again!

This is the absolute worst turkey ever. Do NOT by this “thing”.
It is very, VERY heavily salted – turkey & gravy.

I tried my first oven ready Jennie-O turkey breast in early November when a friend came to visit. I made an entire meal around it with mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and green bean casserole. While I didn’t think it could possibly cook from freezer to oven it did and it was so tasty that both of my friends had to know what it was so they could get one also! To be fair it did sit in the oven after it was turned off since one of the dinner guests was running late but it was 165 temp. The left overs disappeared quickly too as it made for great turkey sandwiches.

I thoroughly dislike Jenny O 85/15 ground turkey. I think I can taste liver in it! Foster Farms 85/15 ground turkey tastes much better Imho. Give it a try.

In reply to Jim Mac Bain. I totally agree with you about the odd taste. I've always had a Butterball or a store market brand. This was the first Jennie-O whole turkey which we defrosted for a few days in the fridge. It had a weird taste and wondered whether it was antibiotics used to raise or treat the bird, but it did also had an unusual after-taste. Perhaps, juts a matter of preference.

We just finished our Thanksgiving dinner with my Mom. She is recovering from a broken ankle so we thought we d keep things simple this YEAR and tried a Jennie Boneless Turkey Breast. While it is indeed easy to cook. We followed the directions but needed to add 15 min to reach the 165F temp. While the cooking was easy, the final result was a very poor tasting turkey. Too salty and other strange condiments that gave it a weird taste. Never again!

I purchased an Oven Ready Boneless Turkey Breast (Jennie-O). 2.75 lbs.
I was worried when it read NO THAWING. I followed ALL of the directions
(From Frozen to Oven to Perfect). Guess what – after 3 hours, it still was not cooked.
I had been tempted to defrost – but thought NO – just follow the directions. Jennie O knows BEST.
I did check that my oven temperature was @ 375 degrees. I did preheat, I did put 3 1/2 inch slits
in the cooking bag as directions stated. Thank goodness – I had a plan B for this pre- holiday meal.
We ate fresh chicken which I cooked in the oven while the turkey breast was still thawing/cooking.
Really disappointed.

I tried one of these turkeys and it was horrible. It had so many spices on it that I could not even taste the turkey. I would have to call this turkey a mystery meat as there is no way anyone can tell this is a turkey. I would not even take one of these turkeys if it were free. My family also thought it was disgusting. We through the turkey out after tasting it.
