I partnered with Blue Orange Games for this post.  All opinions are my own.

My kids love games!  We seriously play games every single day.  And a few years ago, I was introduced to the concept of cooperative games and have since fallen in love with them.  So with Summer looming, I was excited to add a few new games to my stash to pull out when the summer boredom sets in.

What Is A Cooperative Game?

A cooperative game is where the object is to use teamwork to achieve a certain goal.  Rather than race against the other players, you now join forces for a single objective.  Players can share resources, ideas, and even make decisions together.  No more “winner take all” mentality as the goal is accomplished together.  This is especially helpful for young children who are just learning how to play games.  Typical games can leave them frustrated as their skill levels work on maturing.  So while I don’t want my kids to think they will always win, a cooperative game is perfect for building team skills.

Happy Bunny – Hunt For The Lucky Carrots

It’s harvest time at the carrot farm in the Happy Bunny Game.  The players must help bunny pick the best carrots.  While all the stems look the same from the top, players will discover that some of the carrots have been bitten once pulled.  All the bitten carrots are for bunny while the untouched ones go to the farmer, who is also busy harvesting.  At the end of the game, line up the two harvests and see who picked the tastiest bunch!

Geared for ages 3 and up, Happy Bunny can accommodate 1 to 4 players.  And since one round of play takes about 15 minutes, it’s perfect for those children with shorter attention spans.

Where’s Mr. Wolf – Round Up Your Farm Friends Before He Comes!

The Where’s Mr. Wolf Game players need to use teamwork to help all the animals get back to their own barns before night falls.  Kids take turns flipping over the animal tokens, hoping to find their farm friends.  But look out!  Every time a Mr. Wolf is found, he creeps one step closer!

My kids love playing games too! I love it because I have loved playing board games since I was a little kid and it is so fun to be able to play with mine now. 🙂 Thank you for all of the awesome ideas!

I played some outdoor cooperative games but never any board games like these. I like the concept.

I would love to have them for the girls. They look like they will be fun to play.
