There’s not too much waste, other than the crust. Very little -to none- of the inside of the bread gets cut off, depending on the shape. However, if you save the crust in a sealed container or ziplock, it’s perfect for dried bread crumbs (for stuffing) or to throw into a french toast bake! Just toss the crusts into the freezer until you have enough to make whatever you plan to use them for.
