Low-carb pasta, Gluten-free pasta, Vegan pasta

Thank you to ZENB for providing me with products to facilitate my blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.

My family and I have tried several different kinds of gluten-free pasta. Unfortunately, none of them lived up to our standards. The common complaint was the weird gritty texture that came from the combination of gluten-free flours used.

When I was asked to review ZENB gluten-free pasta, I hesitated in fear that it too would have a weird texture. I looked at the ingredients to see what flours had been used and noticed something utterly unique about ZENB pasta.

ZENB pasta is made with one simple ingredient…yellow peas. Yep, that’s it! Non-GMO yellow peas are the only ingredient. Now I was curious! I accepted the opportunity and was excited to give ZENB pasta a try.

For our review, we received an assortment of ZENB pasta in three styles- Rotini, Penne, and Elbow.

Over the last few weeks, we have used ZENB Pasta in several of our favorite recipes. The texture of the pasta is wonderful! It has an al dente chewy texture to it. It isn’t in any way gritty like other gluten-free kinds of pasta. As for the flavor, it does have a (very) subtle pea flavor when you eat the pasta plain. I haven’t noticed it when we use it in recipes though….and it’s not a bad flavor, to begin with.

Another bonus to ZENB pasta is that it is nutritious as well as delicious. It is packed full of fiber, protein, iron, and potassium. ZENB Pasta also has lower net carbs compared to traditional pasta.

We are impressed with ZENB pasta. It is my new favorite gluten-free pasta. I will for sure be getting it again!

The first picture looks great! Do you have the recipe for it?

    • Hello, Leela. Thank you. The first photo is mac & cheese with broccoli and pork. I didn’t follow or make a recipe. I believe I used- 1 box of pasta, 2 cups of shredded cheese, 2 cups of almond milk, 1 TBS of corn starch, maybe 4 cups of broccoli, and 5-6 slices of diced crispy pork. It was delicious and my kids gladly ate leftovers for lunch the next day. 🙂 I hope this helps.

First, just buy gram flour from your asian store, and make the pasta yourself for 20% of the price charged by zenbe. Then continue your pasta recipe. There is no magic or reason to pay such a high price.

This pasta looks like it would work well in so many of the recipes that I like to make and having it be so nutritious is a big plus.

This sounds like an amazing gluten free pasta to try! I feel much better overall when I don’t eat gluten so I always try new things until I find what I like. Pasta noodles has always been a tough one for me, the gritty texture is hard to get over. I cant wait to try this! Thank you so much for sharing.

This is really interesting. I have not heard of this type of pasta before!

That does look like good pasta. I like how much protein it has in it.

I like to get gluten free when I can because I feel it is better for you. I have not heard of Zenb but I will check them out and see about ordering some. Thank you for the review.

This is awesome. I didn’t know they made pasta from peas. What a great way to cut out carbs and gluten

I also was very impressed with this pasta…Prior to this I had been using a lentil and veg pasta which I didn’t love. This is definitely now my go to…I like it with Butternut Squash pasta sauce as I cannot have tomatoes…

I haven’t heard of this brand before. I’m trying to prep more gluten free meals, but my family always complains about the texture. Its good to know that this one is better! All the dishes shown look so good! I’ll have to see if I can find it to give it a try soon!

I’ve never tried pasta made with peas so this sounds interesting. It looks like a tasty alternative to wheat pasta.

I have been trying to watch my carbs. I love pasta and what a great way to still be able to enjoy it without the carbs

It’s great but 500g of this costs around £13, which is insane and excludes most of the population from eating it. The same wheat option is 50p – £1. I don’t think there’s any reason to charge this much other than greed and opportunism given current dietary trends. I’m going to try to make my own using yellow pea flour. Still I’m grateful for the idea.
