Homemade Facial Mask, Health & Fitness, Skin Care, Spa Day

During the last year, my daughters and I have had several at-home spa days. We usually do a homemade facemask and our nails. Occasionally we add in hair treatments. We have a lot of fun doing at-home spa days, save money, and feel rejuvenated afterward.

Today I want to share a few of our favorite homemade facial mask recipes with you. Most of the ingredients are things people usually have on hand.

These homemade facial masks can be messy. I suggest wearing a top you aren’t concerned about ruining. I would also have a towel close by.

Fruit & Veggie Facial Mask

The Fruit & Veggie Facial Mask is great for helping minimize fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps moisturize dry skin.

Ingredients

1/2 of a ripe avocado
1/2 of a ripe banana
1 TBS oil (coconut, olive, or avocado)

Directions

To make the Fruit & Veggie Facial Mask, simply combine the ingredients in a glass or plastic bowl until it has a smooth texture. Once they are blended, apply to your face and allow them to rest for 10-15 minutes. Then wash with a cool damp towel. Gently pat dry.

Tumeric & Oat Facial Mask

The Tumeric & Oat Facial Mask is great for exfoliating and hydrating dry skin. It also helps reduce redness, inflammation, and breakouts.

Ingredients

3 TBS oat flour
1 TBS honey
1/2 tsp ground turmeric

Directions

To make the Tumeric & Oat facial mask, mix the ingredients in a bowl (non-metal) until well blended then brush on your face. Allow the mask to stay on for 15-20 minutes. Then wash with a cool damp towel. Gently pat dry.

Occasionally the turmeric will leave a subtle yellow tinge on your skin. This can easily be washed off with your normal skin cleanser and/or an exfoliator.

Cucumber & Yogurt Facial Mask

The Cucumber & Yogurt Facial Mask can help soothe irritated skin, promote healing, and brighten your completion.

Ingredients

2-3 inches of a cucumber
1 TBS Greek yogurt
1 TBS aloe vera
2 TBS oats

Directions

To make the Cucumber & Yogurt Facial Mask, blend all ingredients until smooth. Apply the mix to your face and let the mask rest for about 20-30 minutes. Then wash with a cool damp towel. Gently pat dry.

We have spa days to do manicures and pedicures. I like the idea of homemade masks especially the cucumber and yogurt one.

I love that these are made with natural ingredients, so I feel comfortable with my daughters doing it. I think I will try the fruit and veggie facial mask soon. My daughters always love having a “spa day” at home. 🙂

I don’t know whether I should eat these or put it on my face or both!! I have to chuckle about what we will do to keep us looking young and beautiful. Of course, I have to pin this! These sound cheaper than buying the stuff on the market. Thank you for sharing!

I like something that is easy and easy to make I like the Turmeric & Oat Facial Mask I’ll have to try that one and the Cucumber and Yogurt one sounds interesting. Has it helped your face?

I used to do this but haven’t for a long time! I love natural ingredients, I find that even the so-called ‘natural’ ones from the store still contain a lot of unnecessary ingredients, so homemade is best. This post has inspired me to make my own face masks again. Thank you!
