Heelys Review
I was about 10 years old when I first heard about shoes that had wheels in them. I wound up getting a pair, and the soles were probably three inches thick because they contained the wheels. However, the shoes themselves looked really silly – like moonshoes almost. They weren’t practical for regular everyday wear and I don’t think I wore them more than maybe five times. I’ve seen modern day kids wearing similar, super bulky shoes with wheels now, but there is a much better option. Heelys shoes provide all the fun of having shoes with wheels, without wearing awkward, clunky shoes. In fact, heelys shoes look just like any other shoe until you look at the bottom where the wheels are. My sister is 8 and has small feet for her age, she just grew to a shoe size of 12 in kids. The smallest size that heelys carries is 12, so she was finally able to get a pair in her size. She picked out the Jazzy x2 heelys style which are pretty basic black and white heelys that could be for either gender. These are part of the “x2″ line which have two wheels on the heel of each shoe instead of just one. This is great for young children or for people who are new to heelys because they are easier to balance in. Even with two wheels per shoe, they take some getting used to. My sister was nervous and afraid to give them a genuine try though she did manage to figure out how to walk in the shoes by keeping most of her weight towards the front of her foot without using the wheel. The heelys come with a tool that helps to pop the wheels in and out, and covers that can be placed over the holes when the wheels are removed so they can be used like everyday shoes. Heelys aren’t just for young kids, and come in sizes as large as men’s 12 or a women’s 13.
