Emily Reviews Holiday Gift Guide

Kimochis (Key.Mo.Chee) is “feeling” in Japanese.  Kimochis are toys with feelings inside. They were created to be a fun tool that parents and educators could use to help children express their feelings in an effective and efficient way. Designers believe that children can use Kimochis to better communicate their feelings and develop better social skills leading to positive relationships.

Kimochis characters are packaged in a canvas peekaboo pocket and come with a small book and a mini plush feelings keychain.

For our review, we were sent the purple “brave” key chain and Bug the mini Kimochis. Bug is a considerate creature who is also cautious. He is a methodical thinker. He often confuses other Kimochis leading to a lot of unfinished tasks. Bug is fearful of change which isn’t a good thing because he is a caterpillar. He has a skill for reading maps and has a keen sense of direction. Bug has dreams of being brave and flying free. Bug currently resides in a Manzanita tree. He has a place to swim and a swing. When things heat up, the Kimochis come over to play. Bug’s lucky number is 2 and his favorite color is magenta!

My girls (2.5 and almost 5 years old) love plush animals. They both really enjoyed playing with bug.  They didn’t quite grasp that you could use him to express your feelings. They just enjoyed that you can turn bug from a curious caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly.

Collecting Kimochis can be fun; you can find them all on their website.
