Naturepedic is a brand that makes bed items for babies and children such as sheets, mattress pads and mattresses. For those of you who have made a new years resolution to go natural, you’ll be pleased to discover that naturepedic focuses on natural and organic products. If you’re looking for certified organic mattresses or bedding, you should check them out. I was sent their organic cotton quilted mattress topper for review. This topper isn’t overly thick but is thicker than some mattress. It won’t make the bed surface much more squishy like a thick mattress pad would, but it improves the feeling of the mattress against the skin, and is quilted. The crib size mattress topper would transform your child’s crib mattress or tight-top bed into feeling much more like a grown up, pillowtop bed. I have a full sized mattress and have been using the quilted mattress topper on my own bed, and have been quite happy with it.

When I first put the topper on, it almost seemed a little too big because the straps weren’t pulled taught even though my bed is a pillowtop bed that has a pillowtop on both sides of the mattress. This means that if the bed you are looking to use this on is really thick, it will still fit. It also means that for most of us, we could purchase a thick, squishy mattress pad to put on top of the mattress, and still fit it underneath of this topper, which is really nice. Despite not feeling overly tight, it’s stayed on very well in the six weeks or so that we have used it, we’ve had a corner pop off twice. In the past we’ve used mattress pads that came off almost every single day, so once or twice a month is very little in my opinion. The straps are positioned in a triangular position when compared with the corners of the bed, so you just attach them by pulling the strap under each of the four corners, instead of having to adjust it all the way around all sides of the bed like other pads that i’ve owned. The entire quilted mattress topper is machine washable, and is very easy to pull off the bed and throw into the wash on laundry day. I have used sheets over the top of the topper, but the surface of the topper is very soft and not at all irritating to the skin so it wouldn’t be uncomfortable to sleep right on the pad. Overall I have been really impressed with the quality of the naturepedic mattress topper, especially when compared with the various mattress pads that I’ve tried in the past. I think we will easily get a few years of use out of this mattress pad.
