Giveaway Tools is a giveaway entry form that is brand new. It’s pretty exciting for me, as a giveaway blogger because it saves me time by auto confirming winners. In the past, I’ve always had to check to make sure that my winners didn’t cheat. For a facebook entry, this meant going through a list of my 5,000+ facebook fans in search of the winners name. If I found it, I’d move on to checking to see if they follow me on twitter, and viewing the links they left me to their tweets to make sure they included all the necessary info. For email subscriptions, I’d have to log into the feedburner website, find the list of email subscribers and search for the right email and make sure that it had been activated. If at any point I found that the winner I had chosen didn’t complete the entry as they had said, I’d have to pick a new winner an start all over. The giveaway tools widget won’t allow users to submit the “follow on facebook” entry unless they do in fact follow the page on facebook. Plus, when a winner is drawn the program will again check to see if the facebook user is still following the page. This way, users won’t be able to ‘like’ a page and then ‘unlike’ it after entering as a way of cheating. The entry types that are auto-confirmed by giveaway tools includes:

Follow a twitter user

Tweet

Favorite an etsy shop

Favorite an etsy item

Right now, Giveaway Tools is in closed alpha form. This means that only select people are able to use the widget for now. It also means that it is a very young version of the product so there may be some technical problems that arrive for those who are using the program early on.
