NEVER in a million years would I have believed you if you told me that one day I would be reviewing sewing kits. You see, for me sewing on a button is an extreme challenge. However, my two young Daughters seem to have inherited some sewing talent from my Mother-in Law. They really enjoy sewing and are pretty darn good at it, if you ask me.
It all started last summer when my Mother-in-Law started make quilts with both of my Daughters. With each weekly visit, they would work on another square of their doll quilts. When my Mother-in-Law wasn’t around, they would ask me to sew with them. I didn’t have a clue how to teach them new stitches nor did I have the imagination to come up with a sewing project for them. I turned to Google and found Sewing Kits 4 Kids!
Sewing Kits 4 Kids was created by two sisters. They grew-up in the country and were taught how to sew, garden, cook, and care for animals. They noticed that not many of the children around them were learning these life skills. They decided to create a business that would teach children basic sewing skills with fun and educational kits. Each kit contains step-by-step instructions and materials to complete a project. Depending on your kit, you will need to have your own sewing needle and may need thread, scissors, glue and/or an iron. For our review, we received a Ladybug Pillow kit and a Button Bag kit.
We had A LOT of fun with these kits. Savannah (6 years old) was really excited to make the Button Bag to carry all of her school pencils in. Cheyenne (almost 4 years old) want to make the Ladybug Pillow for her doll. We found the step-by-step directions easy to follow. They clearly taught the girls (and me!) how to complete the stitches and guided us through the project. Savannah was able to complete almost the entire Button Bag on her own. Cheyenne needed a little bit more help but was still able to do a good amount of the sewing on her Ladybug Pillow.
Sewing Kits 4 Kids were great activities for us. We were able to have some quality time together while we worked on our projects. The girls were able to start and finish a sewing project and that always helps build their self-esteem. They have shown their Ladybug Pillow and Button Bag to all of our family and friends….the projects even made an appearance at school show-and-tell.
I am really happy we found Sewing Kits 4 Kids. I look forward to more sewing projects with my girls.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
