yourpicturebook review, discount code & giveaway | Emily Reviews

I got the chance to work with a really great company at yourpicturebook.com. The company takes a photo of your child, and your child’s name and edits it into the cover, as well as every page spread of the book!

I’ve seen a few companies who make personalized photo books for children, but instead of using your entire child, they cut out your childs face and then slam it down on a cartoon childs body. Which even to a child looks a bit silly. This is much better. If you have a full body picture available, they use your childs entire body, or if only a partial body shot is available they can work with those photos too.

I wanted to have this book made for my nephew Isaac who just turned 6. He’s at the age where he’s interested in books and I thought this would be a great way to help encourage him to keep reading and asking to be read to. The photo used is best if the child is looking towards the camera of course, which didn’t seem like much of a task at first but once I got going through my pictures of him (I have a LOT), I was surprised at how many he wasn’t completely forward in. I guess it makes sense though, he IS a little boy after all so most of my pictures I have of him are of him in action. The best photo I could find of him looking directly at me was this one, from his birthday last year, which only shows his elbows on up. I wasn’t sure if it would make the cut.

However, I liked the photo so I asked. yourpicturebook said sure. However, I was still a bit worried about how it would turn out. When the book came in the mail I excitedly broke open the package and I can’t even express how happy I am with this book. It’s great! They were so creative with the ways they were able to manuver the photo to hide the fact that his entire body isn’t there, as well as hiding that his arms were crossed. I took a photos of a couple of the pages to give you an idea of how well they did. Here’s three pages

I was also able to personalize this book with a dedication in the front. Overall I’m thrilled about how well this book came out. I was sent a hardcover version and I think it will stand up very well to the wear and tear that little boys have on books and everything else around them, hehe.

There are two other books currently available to personalize as well, including ‘can count’ for younger children and one titled Noah’s arc as well. The company also offers several other personalized products including coloring books, dvds and posters.
