Woo hoo! Here is the first review that I have posted that will be connected with blogmania. (Meaning there will be a giveaway for this book during blogmania in September!).
Today’s review comes from workman.com which is a company that sells books of all kinds. I was lucky enough to receive a Star Wars book to fit into my ‘technology/geek’ theme for blogmania. The book is called Star Wars: A scanimation book. What is Scanimation? The easiest way to find out is to watch this video
In case you don’t have the ability to watch the video, it’s basically a technique used to cause images to appear to move or be animated, without using video technology. Each page of the book includes a scanimation image as well as a quote from star wars. In smaller print on each page, there is an explanation of where the quote comes from in the movie to better explain the quote. There’s a lot of star wars products out there, but this book is unlike anything I’d ever seen. I’m really impressed with the basic, yet unique quality that this book offers. I know several star wars addicts, some who are children and others who haven’t been children for years, who seem to own ‘everything’ star wars, yet when you try to think of something to get them – the only idea you can come up with is star wars products, because you know that’s what they love. I think this is a great answer for those star wars addicts. It’s star wars which they will love yet it’s bound to be something they don’t have yet. A great addition to any star wars collection.
