If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you probably remember a few posts i’ve done in the past for aurora toys. I’ve always been happy with aurora brand toys and I think their new line of softy soakers are great as well. Softy Soakers are small (8 inch) stuffed animals that are sea/water animals that come in small plastic containers because they don’t feel like they have any ‘fluff’ inside them. Instead, they are just the empty, outer lining. However, once you put them in water for about 40 seconds they appear to magically gain stuffing. I was sent the octopus for review and decided to let my little sister open his package and put him in the tub to watch him get stuffed. After taking him out of the water, I was surprised at how filled he felt – much tighter stuffed than a typical stuffed animal. Of course, once it was regular sized it makes a great toy as just as regular stuffed animal. The suggested retail price of the softy soakers is just 10.00 making these a really affordable gift for kids. They are small enough in their package that they could even be used as stocking suffers or fit inside easter baskets, etc.

Check out the video we made of the softy soaker changing. PS – in this video we mention how it feels like a bean bag. At the time he did, but once finished it’s not a bean bag it’s the regular stuffed animal feel.

Win it: Aurora has offered to provide 1 surprise softy soaker to one of my readers from the US or Canada.
